Kim Richards Wishes Sister Kyle A Happy Birthday, ‘RHOBH’ Star Responds

Kim Richards sent a sweet message to her sister, Kyle, on her birthday. Although the two sisters have been involved in a years-long family feud with one another, and, at times, with their older half-sister, Kathy Hilton, Kim Richards put their differences aside on January 11, and sent Kyle a message on Instagram.

“I’ve loved you from the day they brought you home. Happy Birthday little sister!! I hope this year is best year EVER for YOU!! I love you @kylerichards18,” Kim Richards captioned her Instagram photo, which featured a throwback photo of herself and Kyle as a baby.

On January 12, after seeing Kim Richards’ message from the night before, Kyle shared an Instagram post of her own, which included the same photo, and in her caption, she told Kim Richards, “Thank you love you too XO.”

For the last few years on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, sisters Kim Richards and Kyle Richards have been going through hard times. However, during Season 5 of the Bravo reality show, the drama between them reached an all-time high when Kim Richards’ dog, Kingsley, attacked Kyle’s daughter, Alexia Umansky. During the reunion, the two faced off about the issue, with Kim Richards shooting Kyle’s claims of her daughter nearly losing her hand, and alleging the bite was nothing more than a little nip on her finger.

Also during Season 5, Kim Richards and Kyle feuded over her relationship with Brandi Glanville, who often speaks out against Kyle, and has for years. In a deleted scene, Glanville was seen telling Kim Richards to distance herself from her sister because it would make her respect her. Glanville also informed Kim Richards that Kyle had been manipulating her for years.

After filming on Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills wrapped, Kim Richards suffered an alcohol relapse, and in April, 2015, she was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel and charged with public intoxication, resisting an officer, trespassing, and battery on an officer. In the weeks that followed the arrest, Kim Richards entered rehab at least once, but sadly, her troubles were far from over and in August of that same year, she was arrested at a Target store in Van Nuys, California, where she was accused of stealing more than $600 worth of items, including children’s toys.

Although Kim Richards went through tough times during filming, she appears to be doing better now, and recently, she and her daughter, Kimberly Jackson, began filming a new reality show, which is set to air on Lifetime later this year. On the series, Kim Richards will be featured undergoing family therapy along with a number of other celebrities and their family members.

Entertainment Tonight was first to report news of Kim Richards’ latest project, and her friend, Glanville, revealed the series would be airing on Lifetime on Instagram a short time later.

Last month, Kyle spoke of her sister’s sobriety struggles during an interview with People Magazine.

“There are no guarantees for someone who is an alcoholic. I’m always waiting for the end. ‘When is this over? When can we put this away and start having fun?’ But we can’t ever do that. And that’s something I’ve had to learn. I just hope [Kim Richards] will be healthy, happy and sober for the rest of her life. She’s got four amazing kids, she’s an incredible mom and she has a lot to look forward to.”

For more of Kim Richards and her sister Kyle, tune into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6, airing on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo. Kim Richards will return to the show in the coming weeks.
