Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Kids Star In ‘Kung Fu Panda 3,’ But They Don’t Want To Act?

Being the children of two of Hollywood’s biggest stars definitely has its perks. For Pax, 12, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 9, and Knox, 7, these benefits include helping their mother, Angelina Jolie, in her part in the upcoming Kung Fu Panda 3. However, just because Brad Pitt and Jolie’s kids enjoyed their time on set does not mean they want to get into the acting business.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jolie discussed her children’s performance in the animated film and revealed that they had a blast working on the project. However, despite the good times, she admitted that none of them have a desire to become actors.

“They were kind of shy. They don’t really want to be actors, but I didn’t want them to miss the opportunity… They came in, and they had a lot of fun with it.”

Jolie’s children have minor roles in the movie, including making animal noises for a few of the animals in Kung Fu Panda 3. This includes a scene where their panda characters are sitting around a dinner table waiting to be served.

The animated film centers on Po (Jack Black), a panda who reconnects with his estranged father, who just so happens to live in a mysterious paradise. However, according to ET Canada, things quickly go wrong after a villain with supernatural powers named Kai (J.K. Simmons) marches through China. In order to defeat Kai, Po is forced to teach his new friends Kung Fu in order to fight off Kai’s evil plans.

In regards to the theme of the movie, Jolie expressed her excitement over the father-son plot. In particular, the actress liked how the film addressed the issue straight on and didn’t gloss over the reality of living with two fathers. This is understandable, given Jolie’s current marriage with Brad Pitt, in which she brought in children that she had adopted while in previous relationships.

“It handled it well, because it didn’t brush over it,” she explained to the outlet. “It shows that it’s complicated and it’s not easy and it’s not over in a happy second.”

In addition to Jolie and her children, the film is also set to star Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, and Kate Hudson. Hudson plays the part of Po’s romantic element, a panda named Mei Mie. For her part in the animated comedy, Hudson described her character as being “a tough cookie” who “just turns into this warrior.”

Meanwhile, People is reporting that Jolie has included her kids in other movie projects in the past. In fact, their eldest son, Maddox, 14, is currently doing research for Jolie’s newest film, First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia. For his part, Pax has been taking photos while on the set of the movie.

At the same time, Jolie made Maddox her production assistant in her most recent collaborative project with Pitt, titled By the Sea. The film marks the first time Pitt and Jolie have worked together in 10 years. By the Sea opened in theaters back in November of 2015.

Although Maddox might not want to become an actor, his work with Jolie is a clear indication that he might want to work behind the camera some day.

Fans can see the Jolie Pitt children in their first role in an animated film when Kung Fu Panda opens in theaters on January 29, 2016. Given their unwillingness to pursue careers in acting, this might be a rare event for the couple’s kids.

First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia, meanwhile, is expected to premiere sometime in 2016, though an official release date has yet to be set.
