Playboy Mansion Up For Sale, But Catch Is Hugh Hefner Gets To Live There Until He Dies

Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion is very famous for parties and for being the backdrop of the show The Girls Next Door. Everyone knows this mansion and the famous grotto outside. People love the idea of getting into a party at the Playboy Mansion, but now it turns out that you can actually buy the mansion and live there.

TMZ shared that the Playboy Mansion is up for sale, but if you want to buy it, you’ll need to follow a few very strange rules. If you buy this one house, Hugh Hefner will be living there until he dies, and you can assume that also means his wife, Crystal Harris, will live there as well.

This house was built in 1927 and sits on a six-acre Holmby Hills estate, which is a great location. However, it sounds like the land is probably worth more than the house. They are hoping to get over $200 million for the Playboy Mansion, but it turns out that a lot in the area only went for $60 million recently. An expert says that Hef will be lucky if he gets $80 or $90 million for the Playboy Mansion.

If you buy the Playboy Mansion, then Hugh Hefner gets a life estate where he can live. You also can’t even tour Hef’s bedroom when deciding if you want to buy the house, so you will be buying it without seeing the main bedroom in the home. You can check out the bedroom in a tour that Crystal Harris did below, though. Hugh Hefner might not die for years, and there is no way to know when you will be able to take over this house and move into it on your own or tear it down, whatever you decide.

Gossip Cop shared that Hugh Hefner doesn’t actually own the Playboy Mansion, but instead his company, Playboy Enterprises, owns it. Hef has been paying rent on the Playboy Mansion and the areas that he uses. The house will hit the market later this month.

Back in October, Radar Online shared that the Playboy Mansion wasn’t in the best shape, according to a model who hung out there. Carla Howe went to the Playboy Mansion and shared that things just aren’t the same at the mansion anymore. It isn’t the big party house that it used to be with topless women walking around all the time.

“Hef is so frail he goes everywhere with a group of nurses. Most of the time all he wants is to play chess with his friends and watch old films.”

The model went on to explain that Hugh Hefner has not changed anything in the Playboy Mansion over the years, so it looks like it is stuck in the 1980s. The model said the Playboy Mansion is “damp-smelling.” Holly Madison shared some in her book about how things are in the mansion as well and made it sound like everything isn’t as it seems.

There is no word on why Hugh Hefner would even want to sell the Playboy Mansion before he dies, but this could have something to do with taking care of everything before he passes away. Hef isn’t getting any younger, and things have certainly changed since Hef married Crystal. They have pretty much stayed out of the headlines and are not even really active on social networks.

Would you be interested in buying the Playboy Mansion and allowing Hef to live there until he dies? Do you think that it is worth $200 million? Sound off in the comments below on your thoughts about the Playboy Mansion being up for sale.
