Is Janet Jackson Undergoing Treatment For Throat Cancer?

Janet Jackson is in a panic, and a medical crisis is causing her to cancel, or at least postpone, her Unbreakable World Tour. Jackson is allegedly about to undergo serious surgery that may harm her singing voice and has asked fans to pray for her.

According to The Inquisitr, Janet Jackson was previously in the news for another health crisis involving her father, Joe Jackson in Brazil. She then took a break from tour rehearsals to fly down and be with him until his health improved and he could fly back to the States. Joe Jackson was in Brazil for his birthday celebration, and had three heart attacks and a stroke. As a result of the stroke, Jackson went temporarily blind. Jackson had already had health problems, and between alcohol and Viagra, put himself at greater risk for a cardiac event.

Radar Online is reporting that Janet Jackson is worried that her current throat ailment could put her singing voice at risk.

“Doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal cords that could be serious,” a source close to the 49-year-old the “Control” singer told Radar. “It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.”

Jackson published a message addressing her fans who were eager to see her in concert.

“Hey you guys…Happy Holidays to each and every one of you! I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” Jackson confessed in an online post. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring,” she continued. “Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time…There will be no further comment.”

But doctors agree that a cancer diagnosis could be the end of her singing career.

“God forbid that this should be cancer of the larynx,” Dr. Stuart Fischer told Radar. “That would abruptly end her ability to ever perform again.”

Yahoo News says that Janet Jackson faces many tests and biopsies before she an consider going back on tour. Sources say there is no time to wait to seek drastic medical intervention.

“Doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal chords that could be serious. It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.”

Jackson is asking for the thoughts and prayers of fans everywhere.

“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time…There will be no further comment.”

The Sydney Morning Herald is revealing that Janet Jackson is terrified as to what this diagnosis might mean to her career. The Jackson family is also concerned.

“They are all so scared that Janet may have cancer,” the source said. “The situation is really quite baffling because Janet does not smoke cigarettes and she lives a really healthy lifestyle.”

Jackson put out messages to her fans, telling them that she was hanging in there, but she really appreciates their good wishes at the time of such stress.

“I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright.”

The Jackson family is no stranger to catastrophic events. Janet Jackson’s brother Michael Jackson died suddenly of a Propafol overdose after it was found out that he was a drug addict.
