Death Reunites Jennifer Garner And Ben Affleck, But Where Is Patrick Dempsey?

It seems that fate keeps throwing Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck together, no matter how determined Jennifer may be to separate from her husband. It’s a goal that is hard enough when trying to present a united front to their children — Violet Affleck, 10, Saraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, 6, and Samuel Affleck, 3 — but now it seems the passing of an unidentified person has brought the couple together yet again.

Jenn Garner And Ben Affleck Come Together For A Funeral

On January 2, Affleck and Garner were spotted arriving together for the funeral, which took place in Los Angeles. Having split in July of last year, after it was discovered that Ben had been cheating on Garner with the couple’s 28-year-old nanny, the couple has remained civil to co-parent their children.

While both Garner and Affleck may have known the deceased, it still seems unlikely that they would pair up for the service. The estranged spouses could have arrived separately and still come together for the funeral. While some suggest that the passing of a family member might have brought them together for the day, it still seems unusual that the newly split couple would choose to ride together. Might Affleck and Garner find a stronger reason to reunite, as they mourn the passing of a mutual friend or a beloved family member? Oftentimes, death brings back memories and reminds us how precious the people in our lives are to us. It might be that this sad event could bring the Affleck family back together, but Patrick Dempsey might have something to say about that.

Jennifer Garner Moves On With Valentine’s Day Co-Star Patrick Dempsey

In 2009, Jennifer and Patrick were matched up in Valentine’s Day and sources say sparks were flying from the moment the two met up on the set. They had great chemistry in front of the camera and, if each of them had been single and available, they might have hooked up. That may not matter now, because Jennifer Garner and Patrick Dempsey seem to be making up for lost time.

The two have been friends for quite a while, and it didn’t seem odd at all odd Jennifer to invite Patrick out for coffee several months ago. When the facts about Ben’s infidelity broke, the actress understandably needed a shoulder to lean on.

“As soon as they started talking, the spark was evident to both of them. Jennifer was relieved and excited,” a source said, explaining that the coffee date evolved into better things. “They had great chemistry and it was obvious to everyone around.”

Sources confirm that the new relationship has been going very well for Garner and Dempsey. It has also been proceeding at a quick pace with the couple’s second date lasting a full weekend.

While things are going well with Dempsey, there may be trouble coming for this relationship if things don’t change at Garner’s place. It seems Affleck is still residing at the estate and, while there may be plenty of room, that still must make for an awkward situation. Dempsey may tolerate the co-parenting and funeral reunions, but Garner may have a hard time making these living arrangements seem kosher.

When she’s not making time with her new boyfriend, Jenn is doting on the children she shares with Ben. This Sunday, Garner took 6-year-old Saraphina out for a day of mother-daughter bonding that included some shopping. While Jennifer wore dark colors, Saraphina was dolled up in pink from head to toe, except for a pair of light grey sweatpants. The two ladies looked carefree and happy as they enjoyed the California sunshine and each other’s company.
