‘Fuller House,’ ‘Luke Cage’ Headline Original Shows Streaming In 2016
More shows are coming to streaming services in 2016, headlined by a reboot two decades in the making and the third Defenders installment, Time reported this week.
The list of shows coming to streaming services run the gambit from comedies to dark dramas with several options in between these extremes. Here is a look at the shows streaming services will offer in 2016.
Fuller House

The premise of Fuller House is that D.J. returns home to seek help from sister Stephanie and best-friend Kimmy in raising her three boys. But don’t expect to see Michelle in any of the episodes anytime soon. When Fuller House begins streaming on February 26, 2016, viewers aren’t expected to see either Olsen twins reprising their iconic role.
Luke Cage

Luke Cage will delve more into the back story for Jessica Jones’ boyfriend. Colter’s character wasn’t born with superhero powers, and it was only after he was experimented upon and wrongfully imprisoned that he gained his durability. After this series, only the Iron First – another of the shows set for late in 2016 – remains before the Defenders unite in 2017.
11.22.63

The eight-part mini-series is based on the best-selling novel by horror author Stephen King. J.J. Abrams – who helped create 2015’s biggest movie event with Star Wars: The Force Awakens – lends his hand to the series.
The Path

With executive producer Jason Katims (Parenthood, Friday Night Lights) at the helm, the show adds fellow NBC alums Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) and Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) to the mix. Michelle Monaghan from True Detective rounds out the top-billed actors for the streaming offering.
Sneaky Pete

Joining Ribisi in Sneaky Pete is Breaking Bad‘s star Bryan Cranston. Cranston is producing the show as well as providing a few guest appearances, adding some extra incentive for watching Sneaky Pete.
