The Day Taylor Swift Found Herself And Fans Rejoiced, Where Was T-Swift During Debut Of ‘Out Of The Woods’?

It looks like Taylor Swift has started 2016 with a bang. Her new music video for “Out of the Woods” made its anticipated debut last night on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. It was, literally, pretty wild. It looks like the musician has found herself and fans couldn’t be happier.

Swift certainly braved the elements for this video, at least that is the effect she has illustrated. She traveled to New Zealand for the filming, which may have been the perfect backdrop for this video. The singer ran through the woods in a blue dress while being chased by growling wolves, and then roots started to wrap around her until she broke herself free. And, that wasn’t the end of her dilemma.

Taylor also battled the freezing cold, a muddy mess, and a raging forest fire to finally make it out of the woods to the sunny beach where her feet hit the warm sand. What did she find at the end of all of this? No, she didn’t find her man because she lost him, but she did end up finding herself instead. At the end of the video, the message read like this.

“She lost him but she found herself. And somehow that was everything.”

Apparently, the tune was written by Taylor Swift about former boyfriend Harry Styles. It is allegedly supposed to depict all of the emotions she went through during her time with the Once Direction singer. During her Grammy Pro Listening Session she did a few weeks ago, she explained a little bit on what the song is supposed to represent.

“It just kind of conjured up all these, like, feeling of anxiety that I had had in a relationship where everybody was watching, everybody was commenting on it. You’re constantly just feeling like, are we out of the woods yet?”

While the world was watching her new video, Taylor was watching her beau on stage in Las Vegas. Calvin Harris was doing a concert on New Year’s Eve at the Omnia nightclub and fans spotted his girl in the audience supporting him and celebrating the night. What a way to ring in the New Year! Those two are still going as strong as ever. It will be interesting to see what 2016 has in store for this high-profile couple.

Not everyone loved the music video for “Out of the Woods.” As with any popular topic, there is typically negative feedback on social media as well as the positive reviews. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there were some comments made by animal lovers who were upset about the wolves that were seen in the music video.

In addition to that, there were others who called Taylor Swift a racist. Some comments said that the video had “racist undertones.” She was basically called “ignorant” and some said still doesn’t have a clue. However, those commenters who trashed the music video may have been few and far between because Twitter has been exploding with excitement as Swift fans tweet good things about it.

It was a good end of the year for the 26-year-old musician as she had the highest-grossing worldwide tour of 2015, as confirmed by Gossip Cop. Her 1989 tour, which ran from May to December, grossed $250.4 million.

She has had an amazing year, and even though some have said that 2016 may just be the downfall for Taylor Swift as far as her career is concerned, her success so far has spoken for itself. Even if her music takes a bit of a turn this coming year, this girl certainly won’t let any of that get her down.

Sound off your comments on what you thought of the “Out of the Woods” music video. Will Taylor Swift continue her successful run in 2016?
