Kenny Rogers Sells North Georgia Estate For $2.25M

Country music legend Kenny Rogers has sold his sprawling estate located on 150 acres in northeast Georgia for a $2.25 million.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Rogers’ home was allegedly to be sold at an auction on Tuesday, but just as the event got underway a lawyer went up to the podium and said Rogers had taken the estate off the market and that the auction was over.

On Wednesday (June 27), Grand Estates Auction Co. in Charlotte, N.C. (the company in charge of selling off the country star’s estate to the highest bidder), announced that Rogers sold the house and its 150 acres for $2.25 million.

“That’s all the information I have,” a Grand Estates spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman offered no explanation on why the auction ended so abruptly or who is purchasing the home.

Rogers’ property, located near Nicholson, Ga., included a 5,681-square-foot-house, a 2,675-square foot pool, an 8-acre lake (stocked with bass and featuring an island with a pavilion offering covered dining and cooking spaces), heavily wooded horse riding trails, an elaborate go-cart track and other amenities.

“Grand Estates Auction Company is the most experienced and successful luxury real estate auction company in North America,” Rogers told Forbes earlier this year. “My lake house is a one-of-a-kind property, so when I decided to sell it, I went to the experts.”
