The cast and crew of Outlander can add another award to the show’s growing list of achievements. According to Scotland Now, the hit time traveling drama has been voted as having TV’s sexiest scenes of 2015. This marks yet another award the first year show has received as it prepares to head into its highly anticipated second season.
The scene that won the award was featured in Episode 10 of the first season, titled “By the Pricking of My Thumbs.” In the scene, Jamie (Sam Heughan) is featured giving oral sex to Claire (Caitriona Balfe). Although a few interruptions threaten to derail the sensual scene, Jamie manages to keep focused on the task at hand.
The initial reaction by fans to the scene was overwhelmingly good. In fact, many took to social to express just how much they enjoyed watching the intimate interaction. While some fans praised the show for its sexy scene, others promised to watch it over and over again.
“Best Sunday morning start with breakfast in bed watching episode 10 of @Outlander_Starz,” one Twitter fan wrote.
“Another excellent Episoe, clap clap, #Outlander #bestillmyheart Gotta watch at least the first 10 minutes again,” another fan posted to Twitter.
“Can’t wait for episode 11. Love everything they did in 10,” a third fan noted on Twitter.
Meanwhile, in addition to the recent award, Starz has officially released new photos from the set of season two of Outlander. In the photo, which was recently released on Twitter, Heughan’s Jamie is seen sitting beside his friend Murtagh in what appears to be a French tavern. Joining the two men is an unnamed French nobleman.
“It’s wise to keep your most trusted mate at your side,” the image was captioned with.
The second season of Outlander is based on the second book in the bestselling series by Diana Gabaldon, titled “Dragonfly in Amber.” The new season will feature Jamie and Claire venturing into Paris, France, with the goal of stopping the Jacobite Rebellion.
In order to accomplish this the two will need to infiltrate French society and uncover what Bonnie Prince Charlie is planning on doing with the rebels. Although it cannot be said for certain, the new photo is likely a look at Heughan trying to make some headway into the French aristocracy, though the location of the meeting indicates that the nature of the meet up is secret.
In addition to the new photo, Fashion & Style is reporting that Heughan recently revealed that filming for the second season has officially ended for this year. With the primary filming now complete, many of the cast members are now headed home for the holidays, but will resume production in the new year.
While fans still have a while to wait before the new season of Outlander returns to television, they were recently treated with a Q&A session on Facebook that was hosted by Heughan and Balfe. Although the questions were largely playful in nature, the fan interaction was a welcome break for those itching for the series to return.
That being said, Heughan and Balfe did offer some interesting questions related to the series. When asked where they go in they had a time machine, both actors stated that they would venture into the future and discover what becomes of the show.
At the same time, Balfe explained how she really likes baking during the holiday season. In particular, the actress has a liking for scones, pies, and cookies.
For her is part, Heughan revealed that he was most impressed with some of the scenes he was able to shoot in Prague, which included a number of Paris scenes.
The second season of Outlander is expected to return in the spring of 2016.
