Luke Hemmings And Calum Hood Talk Having Sex With 5SOS Fans, Get Accused Of Objectifying Women

Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford recently got naked on the cover of Rolling Stone. Normally, 5 Seconds of Summer fans would completely lose it over seeing this much band nudity, and they’d get a hashtag trending on Twitter to celebrate getting to see the guys in the buff. However, 5SOS fans have already forgotten about the Rolling Stone cover because of the way Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood talked about their female fans during the interview.

Early on in the interview, Luke Hemmings bragged about throwing a party with a high girl-to-guy ratio, and things just went downhill from there. Ashton Irwin complained about having a mostly female fan base, and 5 Seconds of Summer’s first manager, Adam Wilkinson, hinted that the guys weren’t interacting with their female fans on social media because they enjoyed it during the group’s early days. According to Wilkinson, he used to push the guys to tweet to their followers.

However, the segment of the Rolling Stone interview that has 5SOS fans really upset is a series of comments that Luke Hemmings made about having sex with groupies. Hemmings readily admitted to taking full advantage of becoming a pop punk superstar.

“When you put four young dudes on a tour bus, playing theaters, then arenas, you’re going to have sex with a lot of girls, I guess,” Luke said. “We had a good time.”

When he was asked if he ever had sex with multiple girls in one night, he smirked and said that “the possibility of that is high.” Luke was also asked if he had sex with more than one girl at once.

“The possibility is high,” he said. “The possibilities are endless.”

Luke Hemmings reportedly had a “devilish grin” on his face while he delivered that last line, so he evidently enjoyed bragging about his sexual prowess. Ashton Irwin said that he wants 5 Seconds of Summer to attract a larger male fan base like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones did back in the day, and perhaps Luke and his band mates believe think that more guys will look up to them if they talk about having sex with a lot groupies.

Calum Hood also admitted that he enjoyed having 5SOS fans throw themselves at him because he wasn’t used to getting that kind of attention from girls.

“I had all this attention from all these girls that would have never liked me in school, coming up to me and saying things, handing me numbers,” Calum said. “It was like, ‘Holy s**t, f**k yeah!’ I got a bit reckless.”

While talking about his leaked nude photos, Calum Hood cracked a joke about making a sex tape with Pamela Anderson. The guys also chatted about searching for internet pornography, and Michael Clifford bragged about his Fleshlight.

While talking about the seedier side of being a hugely successful male musician might make 5 Seconds of Summer seem more like a hardcore punk rock band that could appeal to a male fan base and less like a boy band with musical instruments, what Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood said has seriously upset many members of the group’s mostly-female fan base. According to the Mirror, some 5SOS fans are so shocked by the way that the guys objectified women that they’re refusing to believe that the Rolling Stone interview is real.

According to many 5 Seconds of Summer fans, the only way they’ll believe that that Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood actually made those comments about sex is if there is audio or video proof that the Rolling Stone article is not fake. Others said that upset fans shouldn’t make a judgment about the interview or leave the 5SOS fandom until Luke or Calum responds to the article, and some tried to discredit the Rolling Stone writer by saying that the 5 Seconds of Summer interview reads like a fanfic. The article is seemingly tearing the fandom apart.

Some fans tried to show their support for Luke Hemmings and the rest of the boys by getting the hashtag “#WeAreProudOfYou5SOS” to trend on Twitter. However, while many fans said that they were still “proud” of 5SOS, they wouldn’t defend Hemmings’ comments.

A few Twitter users also pointed out that the choice of a hashtag was a poor one because it make it look like 5SOS fans are supporting Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood’s comments.

What do you think of what Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood said? Will 5 Seconds of Summer lose fans because of their comments?
