‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Dec. 25, Merry Xursmas With MIDA Multi-Tool

Destiny players shouldn’t expect any Christmas decorations in the Tower or to find Xûr in a funny hat and coat, but the Agent of the Nine is selling some high quality Exotics for the holiday weekend. PlayStation and Xbox players wishing for some of the better Year One Exotics upgraded to Year Two should pay a visit to the mysterious vendor.

This weekend, Xûr can be found across from the Speaker in the Tower North. Simply head to the left when you first spawn in the Tower, and you’ll find him standing in front of a large, round door across from the speaker’s entrance. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, December 27. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.

This week’s selection is top-notch, considering Xûr is offering Year One upgrades. Destiny players who haven’t had the opportunity to pick up MIDA Multi-Tool, The Armamentarium, Bones of Eao, or The Ram are in for a treat.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

MIDA Multi-Tool

The MIDA Multi-Tool is one of the best Scout Rifles in Destiny. The namesake perk grants extra movement speed plus a hair trigger. This weapon has an excellent rate of fire and impact that becomes even deadlier when combined with the “Lightweight” perk that gives +2 Agility and the “Third Eye” perk to keep radar active when aiming down the sights.

The Armamentarium

The Armamentarium is the Titans go-to Exotic chest armor for when they want to throw more grenades. The “And Another Thing” perk gives all three sub-classes an additional grenade charge. The benefit in both PVE and PVP activities is immediately obvious. Meanwhile, the optional perks come with a choice between extra Special and Heavy Weapon by default with the others centered around elemental armor or recovery.

The 63 Discipline and 66 Strength stat split is excellent. The only reason to use the Glass Needles on this armor is change the elemental armor to your favorite sub-class.

Bones of Eao

These are the Exotic Boots for Hunters who like a little extra spring in their jump. The Bones of Eao intrinsic “Not Bound By Law” perk upgrades double jump with an additional jump. This instantly makes the ship jumping puzzle in the King’s Fall Raid easier, along with giving Hunters a mobility advantage over other Guardians in PVP activities.

The 60 Intellect/62 Discipline stat roll is excellent for the Bones. The choice between bonus Sniper Rifle or Machine Gun ammo is also excellent. The only reason to re-roll these with the Glass Needles is for Nightstalker Hunters who are looking for more Strength.

The Ram

Bungie gave The Ram a bit of a nerf for Year Two, but it’s still an incredibly useful helmet to turn Warlocks into tanks in both Crucible and PVE activities. The “Strength of the Ram” perk not only gives extra Armor, but also activates Voidwalker’s Life Steal ability on every melee hit. This Helmet still stacks well with the Sunsinger’s Flamestrike Overshield, as well.

This week’s helmet is probably worth a re-roll with the Glass Needles due to the 15 Discipline/70 Strength stat roll. You can shoot for a higher dedicated Strength stat plus the “Inverse Shadow” perk in the second column over the current “Hands On” perk.
