Andy Dick Back In Rehab, Again

Andy Dick is back in rehab. The comedian, who has long struggled with drug and alcohol addictions, reportedly checked himself into the Oasis Treatment Center in California on Tuesday.

Dick’s return to rehabilitation came after an intervention was staged by concerned friends and co-workers. They approached the comic during filming for his Internet TV show Andy Dick Live!

It was Dick’s boss Alki David who led the way, giving his client an on-air ultimatum: beat his demons for good in rehab, or quit the show. David told Dick:

“I told you the other day, if this continues, we can’t carry on. And if you decide to leave and not [check into rehab], I’m afraid that we can’t carry on here together.”

Dick broke down in tears, hugging the cast and crew and admitting he had been through “ups and downs.”

And with that, he was whisked off to the Anaheim center by a friend, and immediately enrolled in a treatment program, according to Celebuzz.

Dick is no stranger to rehab – the 46-year-old has been in and out of rehab more than 10 times, yet has lapsed on every occasion.

It’s been a torrid couple of years for the funnyman, who was ejected from an adult entertainment awards ceremony in Las Vegas last year after allegedly pestering a porn star, and then accused of flashing his genitals in a L.A. coffee shop in 2010. He was also arrested for entering a house in L.A. in the middle of the night.

Friends will undoubtedly hope his latest bid for sobriety is successful … and permanent. Best of luck, Andy.
