Wendy’s Is Giving Away Free Frostys For A Year, And Everyone Can Get Them — Here’s How

Christmas is a time when you search for that perfect gift for your loved ones, but there are those who are just really hard to shop for. Well, Wendy’s is helping you out in a way that won’t break your bank or wallet. For all of 2016, you or someone else can get free Frostys for the entire year, and this is absolutely no joke.

The year of Frostys being absolutely free is not a total joke. There is the smallest of catches, and it is that it will cost you, but nothing more than a single dollar. For just $1, you can get the goodness of Wendy’s frozen dessert for a full year.

According to People, you simply need to head into a Wendy’s restaurant before December 31, 2015, and purchase your Frosty-shaped key tag for just $1. This will then be what you need to get your free Frostys for the year of 2016.

After getting your key tag, you won’t be able to just walk into Wendy’s and grab a ton of free Frostys at once.

When you go into Wendy’s at any point in 2016, you will have to make a food purchase of some sort first. At that point, show the employees your key-tag and then get your free Frosty to enjoy.

Some may think this is a clever ploy, and even though Wendy’s is essentially giving the Frostys away, there is more to it.

Ninety cents of every single Frosty key-tag purchased will be going to a great cause: the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. As stated by the company’s website, they are a nonprofit organization that was created in 1992 by Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas.

The sole purpose of the organization is to find permanent homes for foster children. This free Frostys promotion may cost you a dollar, but the majority of that dollar is going to a great cause and will help a lot of children and families.

Some people believe that Wendy’s may have gotten the idea from Olive Garden, which has run a very successful promotion in the past with their “Never Ending Pasta Pass.”

Back in September, Olive Garden sold their second annual “Never Ending Pasta Pass,” and as Fox News reported, it sold out in just one second. Actually, less than one second.

Two thousand of the passes were sold for $100 for an individual or $300 for a family of four, but they were gone in an instant. The pass would enable users to dine at any Olive Garden location as many times as they wanted in a seven-week time period.

In 2014, there were only 1,000 of the passes sold by Olive Garden, and they sold out in 45 minutes, but their website had crashed almost instantly. Lots of the passes ended up on auction sites such as eBay for sometimes triple the original price.

Needless to say, but there was a lot of anger and backlash from those who were shut out for the second year in a row. Olive Garden may sell even more in 2016 or change the way they are offered, but the amazing deal has already upset many.

While Olive Garden had some issues with availability of its special deal, Wendy’s is not likely going to have that problem.

The free Frostys for a year promotion from Wendy’s is available to anyone and everyone as long as they buy them before December 31. You can enjoy free Frostys for all of 2016, and it’s only going to cost you a single dollar that will end up doing good for a lot of people in the long run.
