Bethenny Frankel Feuds With Sonja Morgan Over New Liquor Line

Bethenny Frankel isn’t someone many would try and test, especially when it comes to business ventures. Her personality is one that stands out, and she isn’t afraid to tell you exactly how she feels in the moment. Frankel and Sonja Morgan have known one another for years. They have co-starred on The Real Housewives of New York City on and off for several seasons. Bethenny Frankel quit the show but returned for another shot last season. While it seemed that things were decent among the majority of the RHONY women, that has drastically changed with Sonja Morgan’s latest business move.

According to Vanity Fair, Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan are feuding over alcohol. The two ladies are actually in a legal battle over trademarks. It seems that Morgan decided to “borrow” Frankel’s alcohol branding idea. Bethenny Frankel has done quite well for herself with the Skinnygirl brand. It encompasses pre-mixed cocktails and wine and is basically the core of her empire. Sonja Morgan has always been trying to really get it right with a product, and now she has a line coming out called Tipsy Girl. Yes, this is really happening between the two RHONY co-stars.

It looks like Bethenny Frankel became upset when she learned of the stunt Sonja Morgan was attempting to pull, so she decided to try and get one over on her as well. Frankel filed paperwork to trademark Tipsy Girl. As it turns out, Morgan and her business partner had done it several months before. While the two battle it out in court, it appears Frankel may lose. Morgan has the time frame on her side, and clearly Frankel being petty will be brought to light. This situation can’t be conducive to filming for RHONY, which leaves fans wondering what will happen for the upcoming season.

It looks like Bethenny Frankel may not even be returning to RHONY if she isn’t getting what she wants. According to Buddy TV, Bethenny Frankel was demanding a $2 million salary. None of the cast members for Season 8 have been announced, though assumptions are Frankel, Sonja Morgan, and Ramona Singer will definitely sign on. Bravo and Frankel came to an agreement on money, and they met in the middle. While it isn’t what she initially wanted, it is in an acceptable range. Apparently, Frankel has been a busy woman and will be starting new endeavors in the upcoming months with the FYI network.

The next few months will be interesting between Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan. With the two battling over a trademark and Morgan itching to be successful, there is no telling what could happen. An official announcement of cast members should be happening soon for Season 8 of RHONY. Most likely, Frankel will join if only to get more publicity for her upcoming ventures. Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer are the show, so their presence is almost required. As for the other ladies, Heather Thomson will not return, and it is still up in the air for Carole Radziwill and Countess LuAnn.

Skinnygirl will not lose to Tipsy Girl, especially where Bethenny Frankel is concerned. She is going to fight tooth and nail to ensure this copycat move made by Sonja Morgan won’t come to fruition. While Ramona Singer has her own line of wine, Frankel wasn’t concerned because they are two very different things. Tipsy Girl is a lot like her baby Skinnygirl, and she isn’t one to allow someone to steal her success. Sonja Morgan may have a rude awakening coming to her by way of Bethenny Frankel, especially when money is on the line.
