‘Bachelor’ Ben Higgins Gets Advice From Chris Soules, Sean Lowe, And Jason Mesnick

When The Bachelor premieres in January, Ben Higgins will get advice from ghosts of seasons past: Sean Lowe, Chris Soules and Jason Mesnick. According to an ABC press release, the trio of former Bachelors will give Higgins some words of wisdom before he meets the 28 women vying for his affections.

If Higgins wants to find a long-term relationship on The Bachelor, Mesnick and Lowe are perhaps among the best men to give him advice. Sean Lowe married Catherine Guidici in January 2014, after choosing her as the winner of Season 17. Jason Mesnick did not find love with his season’s winner, Melissa Rycroft, but married his runner-up Molly Malaney instead. Jason and Molly will celebrate six years of marriage in February 2016.

Chris Soules’ Bachelor history is a bit less successful. He rejected last season’s Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe, who in turn went on to reject Higgins. The woman Soules chose to win The Bachelor, Whitney Bischoff, is no longer his fiance. As Us Weekly reported in October, the pair keep in touch but broke up in May. Soules is in no hurry to find love.

“I’m single and doing my thing. After dating 30 women and being engaged, I’m sort of taking a step back and trying to process things and get back into normal life. And then somebody will come along, I’m certain.”

This won’t be the first time this year that Lowe and Mesnick have brought their Bachelor fame to another reality series. In June Sean and Catherine and Jason and Molly appeared in an episode of Celebrity Wife Swap, which saw Catherine spend a week with Jason and Molly a week with Sean.

Lowe received backlash from the episode, during which he gave his tempoary wife “to-do” lists and other errands, implying he does the same with Catherine. The couple took to social media to respond to the criticism. As People reported, Sean said the “to-do” list would never happen and Catherine said her husband was a good man.

“I have been blessed with the most humble, selfless, wonderful husband. TV has been great to us and sometimes it hasn’t, but I am always confident knowing [Sean]’s heart is good. I wish you could all see past his chest of titanium to his heart of gold.”

The couple has continued to allow cameras into their relationship, appearing on the current season of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. In the season premiere Lowe admitted to walking out on the couple’s arguments.

Molly and Jason have one child, a daughter, Riley, 2-years-old. Back in February, Jason surprised Molly with a custom Neil Lane ring for their five-year anniversary. Bachelor viewers know Neil Lane designs all of the proposal rings for the franchise, but since Jason didn’t choose Molly at first, she never got one.

“The past five years have been the most amazing years of my life because of Jason. Our relationship started all because of the ‘Bachelor’ franchise and Neil has been such a meaningful person within the franchise, so I am so honored to have a piece of that relationship. I can’t stop staring at my finger! This is the most amazing gift I’ve ever received!”

ABC’s press release revealed a little bit more about what’s to come in the new season. Comedian Kevin Hart and musician Ice Cube make appearances. Kaitlyn Bristowe’s presence may not be seen, but will be felt, as one of her friends is among the group of women vying for Higgins’ affections. He also may be subject to some hijinx, as the group of 28 women includes one pair of twins.
