Iggy Azalea Reacts To Erykah Badu’s Soul Train Diss

Soul singer Erykah Badu recently dissed Australian rapper Iggy Azalea at the Soul Train Awards. It was the diss heard around the world, when Badu, who hosted the awards, was pretending to talk about rappers that were banned from the awards. She stated that anyone with the name Lil wouldn’t be able to come.

Badu used the opportunity to call Iggy out in the sketch by saying, “I’m banning all rap this year. Don’t get me wrong, I love hip hop. No red cups. Only three tattoos per arm. Iggy Azalea? Oh you can come because what you do is definitely not rap.”

Now, Azalea has responded to the diss on Twitter. “We are days from 2016, but i came online today and saw its still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL.”

She continued, “F*****g hell. Seems exhausting. Anyway – Ive been enjoying the holiday season and i hope you all have too.”

Then she announced that she doesn’t know what she’s doing with her music.

The moment Badu dissed Iggy in the sketch, telling her she can come to the awards show since she’s not a real rapper, memes starting to spout up online of reactions to the diss.

Other Memes surfaced of what Iggy’s reaction would be after she heard the diss:

It hasn’t been a great 2015 for Azalea. She has taken shots from people in the industry and hip hop fans. Then, as we know, rapper T.I., who is majorly credited with discovering Iggy, cut ties from the rapper earlier in the year. In fact, Iggy had no idea that T.I. was cutting ties until he announced it during a radio interview.

At the time T.I. said that the turning point came when Iggy was in a Twitter feud with Q-Tip. “After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really meant to be said here is…’ Then, after it was cool, you know what I mean, everything was cool. And then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [orchestrated].”

The rapper shot back at those concerned with the future of her music by using Twitter:

Either way it’s good to know that Iggy can take things in stride, and is still signed to her record label.
