Ohio Pastor Takes Teen Bride With Wife’s Blessing, The Family Lives Together In Polygamy In Mansfield

An Ohio pastor married his 19-year-old pregnant girlfriend with his wife’s blessing. Pastor Thom Miller, 60, his teen bride, and his wife, Belinda Miller, 44, all share a home together in Mansfield. Miller built a new house with a separate wing for each of his wives.

Thom Miller was once a “mafia enforcer” who found god in prison, according to a Daily Mail report. Reba Miller, 19, will take turns living with the reverend by rotating nights with Belinda. Reverend Miller is reportedly the only person in the polygamous relationship to have more than one partner.

Reverend Thom Miller operates a ministry which has a church in Mansfield and regularly engages in visits to prison. He reportedly married his teen bride at his Ohio church.

The Ohio pastor and his wife, Belinda, first began discussing polygamy after the couple married seven years ago. The two decided to actively engaged in the practice with Reba Kerfoot, whom Reverend Miller had reportedly known since she was a little girl, the Sun notes.

“At first my family thought that what we were doing was not right. They didn’t think it was proper for me to be with a man that was already married,” Reba said. “But they started to come around and now they’re happy as they know I am happy. Having to share him with another woman can be kind of upsetting at times. But I try not to get jealous and when it’s not my time with Thom I just try to occupy myself by going out [with] friends. The baby will have two moms, which I’m okay with.”

Belinda Miller said that the home has two separate master suites, which will allow Reba to take a break from the baby at night when needed.

“I’m definitely excited there’s going to be a little human part of us, part of the family,” Reverend Thom Miller said.

Belinda and Thom Miller became close with Reba Kerfoot, whom the Ohio pastor had not seen for many years, when they all volunteered to work at a soup kitchen. The teenager reportedly moved in with the couple shortly after they volunteered together. Reverend Miller was a friend of the Kerfoot family when the teenager was younger, but said he was surprised to meet her again after she had become a young woman.

The Ohio pastor had this to say about taking a teen bride and becoming active in polygamy.

“I’ve known Reba for a long time, then she moved away and I hadn’t seen her for years. I caught something because she hugged me and I wanted to keep hugging her and I realized, wow, I’m really appreciating this woman. The whole situation works for all three of us. I am the only one who is allowed to have more than one partner and both my wives understand and appreciate that. I think polygamy benefits everyone because my wives get to have a much larger family. It means they always have a friend with them.”

Belinda Miller said that she wanted to have a larger family, and that the addition to Reba to the household not only increases the family in size but gave her a sister to spend time with. The first Mrs. Miller said that the Ohio preacher is the love of her life, and deemed Reba the “blessing” of her life.

The Ohio pastor said that his wives have had arguments in the past at time, due to jealousy flare ups, but added that the polygamous couple has managed to work out such issues.

“Sexually I have no preference and look forward to my time alone with both wives,” Reverend Miller added.

Reverend Thom Miller acknowledged that not all the members of his Mansfield church congregation support his polygamous lifestyle. The Ohio preacher chose not to keep his alternative lifestyle a secret early on. Miller said that while he does not preach about the practice of polygamy, he does feel it does embody a Christian lifestyle.

“I have no problem with homosexuals but I think it’s wrong that their marriage is now recognized by the state but my second marriage is not,” the Ohio pastor added. “I’m going to try and fight the bigotry of that — this is America and my wives and I have the right to live anyway we please — providing we’re not hurting anybody.”

The Ohio preacher grew up in a Cleveland housing project and said he engaged in a life of violent crime and drugs and ultimately worked as an enforcer for the local mob. During an interview in 2003, Reverend Miller said he had been sent to jail more than 20 times, had fathered a dozen children with five different women, and had been shot three times.

While in prison for stabbing a man during a bar fight in 1991, Thom Miller said he stole a Bible and found god. After being released seven years later, he became an ordained minister. In addition to visiting prison to spread the gospel to inmates, the Ohio pastor’s church also reportedly engages in missionary work around the globe.
