Drew and Nick Lachey Announce 98 Degrees Reunion

n May The Inquisitr reported that if fans were hoping for a 98 Degrees reunion, they shouldn’t hold their breaths. That was the final verdict from former Chippendale’s dancer and 98 degrees vocalist Jeff Timmons.

However, it seems as though the vocalists had a change of heart, and the group despite their various commitments to raising children, and fulfilling other aspects in their career will be reuniting for one performance. On Wednesday Nick Lachey and Drew Lachey called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” and announced that 98 Degrees will be reuniting for one performance at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA.

Drew, who since the group’s break was on Dancing With The Stars expressed his excitement over the reunion saying, “We’re very excited about the opportunity, and we’ve been toying around with the idea for a couple years of: ‘if we got back together, when would be the right scenario, and this music festival right here just kind of seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feels.”

Months earlier Nick Lachey tweeted “So psyched to see all the excitement for a 98 degree tour, but the only tour I’ll be doing this summer is at baby’s ‘r us!”, denying that a tour was in the works. However, he had a slightly different story for Ryan Seacrest, saying, “I didn’t say we weren’t going to do it, but there was some speculation about a full tour happening this summer and our fans have been kind of eager to see us get back together. I just wanted to make sure that they understood that a full tour wasn’t happening this summer, but obviously very excited to announce that we’re doing this big festival in Hershey in August.”

The event that’s sure to get boy band enthusiasts will be in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 18th.
