WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins Never Part Of Wrestlemania Plans

The latest WWE rumors are that Seth Rollins was never actually a part of the plans for Wrestlemania, according to a report from Wrestling Inc.

Wrestlemania is the biggest thing in professional wrestling.

For wrestlers, the ultimate goal is to work the main event of Wrestlemania. For hardcore wrestling fans, if there is one Pay-Per-View a year that you cannot miss, and it is Wrestlemania. For casual wrestling fans, the one event that will spark your interest again each year is Wrestlemania. For non-wrestling fans, Wrestlemania is probably the only Pay-Per-View that you can name off the top of your head.

Once you get your foot in the door and end up in NXT, the goal is to impress management enough so that you can get to the main roster in WWE. Once you get there, then the goal is to move up the ladder and get a spot on the card. Once you have established yourself as a star, then the goal is to work toward the main event slot because all eyes are on you at that point.

Rollins followed that blueprint to a T. After an impressive stint as the first ever NXT Heavyweight Champion, he was promoted to the main roster. After establishing himself as a star with the Shield, Rollins was given a run as the WWE Heavyweight Champion. He was in a position where a Pay-Per-View spot was almost guaranteed. Rollins is now at the point where he is jockeying for a position at Wrestlemania.

Some fans have an issue with Rollins because he cheats to win matches, but it is something that he has no control over, as management is instructing him to portray a cowardly, heel champion. Regardless of what fans may say, Rollins has earned his spot in WWE. The Iowa native has proven that he belongs near the top of the ladder for the foreseeable future.

WWE, however, does not seem to agree.

Reports have surfaced that the front office was not panicking when Rollins went down with a torn ACL injury. Normally, Vince McMahon and his staff freak out when they are forced to change their plans. That was not the case this time around. While they value Rollins as an asset, they do not seem to view his loss as being on the same level as The Rock or Steve Austin going down with an injury.

The reports also state that there were no plans written down for Rollins, even before his ACL injury, at Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas, Texas. Generally, WWE officials like to have the top three or four matches put together a couple of months before the annual Pay-Per-View takes place. Those that are given those spots are usually the ones that management values the most. These are guys such as Brock Lesnar, Undertaker and John Cena.

Rollins is obviously not viewed to be on that level, even though he has been the world heavyweight champion for much of the past year. WWE had plans in place for him to drop the belt to Roman Reigns at the Survivor Series, and it now appears that Rollins was going to be bumped down the card. Reigns, on the other hand, is someone that management always wants in one of those featured Wrestlemania matches.

Despite his passionate efforts, Rollins is simply not viewed as a top guy.
