‘Avengers’ To Die In ‘Infinity War’? Plus Will We See The Return Of Aaron Taylor Johnson As Quicksilver?

While the next Avengers film is still a few years from its release in theaters, this hasn’t stopped many from speculating on what is in store for the superhero team. Although the movie will undoubtedly feature a number of twists and surprises, one of the more intriguing aspects centers on the possibility that some of the characters will not make it through the film alive.

In fact, according to Christian Post, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, recently shared some insight into what fans can expect to take shape in the new movie.

“It definitely is an end to some version of the team that we’ve come to know in The Avengers,” Feige stated. “Who knows exactly what’s gonna happen yet in that film but I think this version of that team, and I think we hint to it at the end of Age of Ultron, that the team will be evolving.”

Although his comments don’t reveal the fate of some of the characters, it is clear that some of them will no longer be a part of the main team. That being said, Feige also indicated that a new group of heroes are set to arise as some of the old ones leave.

“New people are coming onto the team. You can pick up an Avengers book 10 years later and you don’t recognize the people on the cover but the ideas and the ideals that make the Avengers the Avengers still exist and I think that’s part of what this culmination will be,” Feige explained.

With that in mind, how likely is it that some of the character might be killed off in Avengers: Infinity War? And, perhaps even more important, which characters might this include?

Leading the list of potential victims is Captain America (Chris Evans). Although there is not any hard evidence to back this up, it is interesting that Evans’ contract only has him included in the first part of the two part film. With his newest stand-alone movie, Captain America: Civil War, set to premiere in the coming year, it is hoped that more details about his fate will soon be revealed.

Apart from Captain America, Thor has also been mentioned as a character that might die in the Avengers universe. In fact, some have even gone so far as predicting that he will either die in Thor: Ragnarok or be locked up in some kind of supernatural prison. Either way, both of these outcomes would certainly mean his end as part of the Avengers team.

Meanwhile, with so much speculation centering on which characters might die in the movie, it has been rumored that Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) may be set to be revived. Although his character was killed off at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Taylor-Johnson recently told Empire magazine that there is always a possibility that fans have not seen the last of Quicksilver.

“It’s [the] Marvel universe,” Taylor-Johnson stated. “It was very much our intention to kind of go the way we did. There was a costume designed for whether… if I didn’t [die]. Which was f*****g really cool. I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ ”

With the movie still a few years from being released, and a good year from even starting production, it really is hard to tell whether or not Quicksilver will be resurrected for the next movie. Further, it is even harder to determine which characters might be killed off, though more information can be expected to be released as we get closer to the film’s release.

Avengers: Infinity War — Part 1 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 4, 2018.
