Booby Trap Bra: Oklahoma Woman Designs Bra With Built-In Knife Sheath Following Attack While Jogging
An Oklahoma woman, Jennifer Cutrona, now wears a personally-designed bra with a built-in knife sheath when she goes jogging after she was accosted on a jogging trail by a man. She says she doesn’t want any woman to feel vulnerable when they are in active wear, so she created the Booby Trap Bra that provides women with a place to keep a small knife or bottle of pepper spray when jogging.
News on 6 reports that Jennifer Cutrona was on a jogging trail when a man jumped out and attempted to attack her. She claims prior to that event she thought that “life was all rainbows and butterflies” and vowed to never be vulnerable again.
“My world of rainbows and butterflies was crushed. So, that day, I went home and sewed a knife sheath into by sports bra.”
After designing her own bra complete with knife pocket, Cutrona wanted to ensure that other women had the same type of protection while getting fit. Therefore, she created a special bra design that is reinforced so that the knife can sit comfortably in the bra’s sheath without poking the woman wearing it. She patented her design and began manufacturing the Booby Trap Bra.
Cutrona says she realized that not all women would be comfortable carrying a knife. Therefore, she decided to also design a bra that could safely hold a small can of pepper spray. As a result, the Just In Case Knife Bras and Just In Case Pepper Spray Bras were born. Cutrona says that the bra is completely safe, and that the knife sheath is designed in a way that the knife will not fall out, even if you did multiple cartwheels.
“It’s a V-shape and there’s a magnet so it snaps in. I can do ten cartwheels and it’s not coming out. A few women said ‘that scares me, a knife,’ so I came up with the pepper spray option.”
“This compression sleeve has two pockets built in. The top mesh pocket is perfect for caring a phone. There is a pocket behind that to carry a pocket knife.”

The women note that the bra is perfect for those who want to “be able to defend [themselves] in a split second against an attacker.” Whether you choose to have a knife or small bottle of pepper spray in your bra, the idea is that the product would offer enough resistance against the attack that the women would have ample opportunity to flee the attacker.
“The idea is not to turn anyone into a fighting machine, but to give you something you can get to quickly that lets you escape.”
Though Cutrona says she wears the bra when she is jogging, it can also be worn underneath clothes for extra protection when you may not want to carry a gun or a knife in your purse. She notes that since she has been wearing the bras, she hasn’t had to pull her Just In Case Knife out of its sheath yet. However, she says it is better to be prepared.
