Will Tyga’s $200K Birthday Gift Help Ease The Sting Of His Split From Kylie Jenner?

Perhaps Tyga’s birthday didn’t exactly turn out the way he had planned, but that didn’t stop the now 26-year-old rapper from celebrating with a big gift to himself.

According to TMZ, Tyga bought himself a set of $200,000 gold chains, including two yellow chains and two rose gold chains. The chains included a white-diamond encrusted Last Kings Record chain that depicts a man handcuffed to a throne. The report indicates that Tyga purchased the jewelry from DWS Jewelry & Co. in L.A. In the same report, TMZ questions whether dropping so much money on a gift to himself was prudent, as Tyga allegedly owes money to more than one former landlord and to a dancer in one of his music videos.

Tyga’s birthday gift to himself is not quite the customized private jet he had hoped to receive from ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner, but perhaps the chains are enough to ease the sting of his recent breakup.

News of Kylie Jenner and Tyga’s split emerged on Tyga’s birthday after it was noted that not a single member of the Kardashian or Jenner family had commented on the fact that it was the rapper’s birthday. When Kylie was a no-show for Tyga’s birthday party at 1Oak Los Angeles, it became obvious something was up.

Soon after, news of Tyga and Kylie Jenner’s breakup was confirmed, and in the days since, fans and media members alike have been following the fallout. The exact cause of the split isn’t clear, though there has been plenty of speculation. Some of that speculation includes questions about whether Tyga cheated on Kylie Jenner, as well as the possibility that Kylie Jenner could still have feelings for her first love, Jaden Smith.

Other news outlets report that Kylie and Tyga are simply at different spots in their lives. According to E! News, Tyga is ready to settle down in his life, while the 18-year-old reality TV star simply wants to have fun. Indeed, just days before the breakup, reports emerged that the “Stimulated” rapper wanted to marry the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star eventually. It was only a few days before the two split up. A source told E! News the following.

“He’s just ready to settle down and she’s not.… Kylie wants to not be with anyone now. She wants to focus on her. Tyga is ready for marriage and would be ready to seal the deal with Kylie. Kylie wants to go out with her friends and just have a bit of fun.”

The truth of the matter is that we may never know the real reason why the former lovebirds broke up. Around the same time that rumors of marriage surfaced, Kylie took to her website and app to write about her relationship, saying that — believe it or not — she doesn’t like to share every detail of her private life with the public.

“Living in the spotlight, people think they know everything about me, but they don’t. I’ve never believed in the idea of the public knowing everything about my relationship and every time I break up and make up.”

Admittedly, it’s not the first time that Tyga and Kylie Jenner have broken up, and some question whether the couple will eventually get back together. At least one member of Kylie’s family hopes the pair is done for good, according to reports (find out who here).

Fishwrapper feels the same way. In an article titled, “Kylie Jenner Sure Dodged A Bullet With This One,” an author for the website wrote the following commentary.

“You have surely heard the joyous news by now, but if not, here it is: Kylie Jenner and Tyga have officially broken up. They are a couple no longer. Gone are the days when we are tortured with their relationship, and now that Kylie is single we can gleefully look forward to what will almost certainly be a glorious new era.”
