NeNe Leakes Giving Friendship With Cynthia Bailey A Second Chance?

NeNe Leakes was furious with her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars last year, especially when she walked out on their therapy session. She really wanted the other ladies to admit to their mistakes, but it didn’t work out that way. In fact, Leakes ended up leaving the show behind to focus on other ventures. But, one thing she left behind was her damaged and broken friendship with Cynthia Bailey.

The ladies admitted the friendship wasn’t worth saving; NeNe Leakes left the show without any resolution. It is possible that Leakes wanted to work things out, because she decided to fly to Jamaica and crash one of the ladies’ cast trips. And, based on social media posts, it is quite possible that NeNe and Cynthia sat down and started working through some of their issues.

According to a new report, NeNe Leakes is now hanging out with Cynthia in New York and it sounds like they are actually getting along quite well. Bailey showed up to support NeNe’s big return to Broadway. Last year, she was doing Cinderella and this year, she is doing Chicago. And both ladies gladly posted and shared pictures of themselves, with NeNe calling their friendship, “a work in progress” and her former best friend telling her to “break a leg.”

It is quite possible that NeNe and Cynthia are slowly working through their issues. It is possible that she is learning to trust Bailey again, and one can imagine it is emotional for them to relive the past. Plus, Leakes doesn’t exactly get along with Peter Thomas. After watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe may not be happy with the way Thomas has treated his wife.

Since leaving the show behind, Leakes has been focusing on her career, on her marriage and keeping her inner circle tight. Even though she decided to not film The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes realizes that her name will always be associated with the show. In fact, she strongly believes that she has made the show what it is.

“I feel like the Housewives of Atlanta is my show. Just keepin’ it real with you. I don’t think that people think of the Housewives of Atlanta and just go, like, ‘Oh, the Housewives of Atlanta? Mmmm, OK, that must be so-and-so’s show.’ I think when you say Housewives of Atlanta, people say NeNe Leakes. Even with me not being on the show… they immediately say NeNe Leakes. So, I’ll always have love for Housewives of Atlanta,” NeNe has revealed according to USA Today about her role on the show.

It is also possible NeNe Leakes has regrets leaving the show behind, which may be why she decided to film the show in Jamaica with the ladies. When NeNe decided to leave Bravo behind, she had many opportunities in front of her but they slowly slipped away. These days, she could have time and energy to film the show. It’s possible NeNe Leakes will return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta next year to film with the other ladies and make her grand return to the show.

Only one question remains: Will Bravo truly take her back after she left last year? It could come down to ratings. If the ratings are low after her departure, it is possible they will bring her back. If the ratings survive without Nene and the ladies have thriving storylines, it may not be necessary to bring her back.
