Cynthia Bailey On Continuous Marital Issues: ‘Peter And I Had Heated Words’
Cynthia Bailey was shocked to learn that her husband had been caught in a compromising situation on the first few episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Cynthia learned along with the rest of the world that Peter Thomas had been caught on an Instagram video, where he was seen touching and grabbing another woman at his Sports One bar in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the time, they weren’t spending much time together, so Cynthia was shocked to see the video.
Cynthia Bailey was clearly heartbroken over her husband’s actions and quickly asked him to explain himself. She was saddened and hurt by his actions, but Thomas didn’t think it was so serious and pretty much laughed it off. On The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Bailey admitted to her assistant that she was emotionally distraught and she really didn’t know what would happen with them.
According to a new Bravo report, Cynthia Bailey is now revealing that she did have some heated words with Peter after she learned of the news. And as she explains, she was trying to focus on her Cynthia Bailey Eyewear launch event, but the betrayal was wearing heavy on her.

“My event was the first time all the ladies would see each other together since the video of Peter came out and the reunion. I invited all of them to share in my moment, but had no expectation of how I would be received. Regardless of everything that I was going through in my relationships with them and my marriage issues, I wanted the event to beautiful, fun, and successful. I wanted to put all past issues aside for the night and the gossip about my marriage to take a back seat,” Bailey explains.
While filming the show, Cynthia called her assistant, Tiffany Williams, and she got a bit emotional over the phone call. Of course, Bailey hadn’t really talked to anyone about her marital issues. At the event, her co-stars didn’t really ask about her marriage, even though they knew something was going on. Instead, Bailey relied on her assistant, Tiffany Williams, to get through the rough patch.
“My conversation with my partner, Tiffany Williams, the day after the launch got a little emotional. Peter and I had heated words at the eyewear event and also later that night when I got home. When I woke up the next morning, he had already left for Charlotte. I was still very upset about how he behaved at the party, and although our call was supposed to be about our business, I just broke down,” Cynthia Bailey explains.

Even though Bailey was clearly hurt by the drama, she was also very upset that Peter was so relaxed about the incident. She wanted him to act like her husband and show devotion to her, not be so relaxed and indifferent about the incident. Even though Bailey issued a statement when the incident happened, she is clearly emotional about it.
“It was extremely difficult dealing with the video of Peter. No woman (or man for that matter) expects (or hopes) to see her or his spouse appear to be cheating or having an indiscretion in a video. Especially one that has gone viral! How would one prepare for this? I was confused, shocked, hurt, and humiliated at the same time. Then I just became pissed at Peter for his recklessness, inconsideration, and carelessness. Of course I let Peter have it. I was furious! Peter and I are in the public eye, so in addition to dealing with this personally, I had to deal with it publicly as well. I had to dig deep, and ask myself a lot of heavy questions about my relationship and whether or not it would survive,” Cynthia previously revealed about the incident, according to Reality Tea.
