Paula Deen Says She’s Not Butter

Paula Deen has an important message for her fans, when you think of her name she would prefer if you did not immediately associate it with “butter.”

One of Paula’s most famous recipes of course is her “fried butter balls” and she uses butter in just about every single recipe she has ever produced.

Deen was talking to Nancy O’Dell as she toured the chef’s Savannah, Georgia estate for the newest episode of “Celebrities at Home.” When O’Dell asked her where she keeps all the butter she cooks with Paula Deen responded:

“When you hear the name Paula Deen. I want you to think of the word ‘hope.'”

A few months ago Paula Deen announced that she had developed type 2 diabetes, a few days later she signed a multi-million dollar deal with a diabetes drug company. At the time her critics argued that it was her high butter, high fat foods that gave her type 2 diabetes and that pushing a drug on her viewers to deal with the disease was sickening.

Despite her recent diabetes scare and the jokes being made against her by Kristen Wiig on Saturday Night Live, Paula Deen continues to offer high fat, buttery treats for her viewers. If you head to her restaurant you can even order a burger that replaces the traditional bun with two glazed donuts.

If you want to hear more about Paula Deen’s current lifestyle and take a tour of her home be sure to tune into “Celebrities at Home” every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV.

When I think of the name Paula Dean I personally do think of hope, as in “I HOPE all this butter she’s asking me to cook with doesn’t give me a heart attack.”
