Harry Styles Won’t Get To Tour With Ashton Irwin As A Solo Artist, Probably Won’t Take Up Acting

If Harry Styles ever goes solo, he shouldn’t expect any help from Ashton Irwin. The 5 Seconds of Summer drummer recently revealed that he’s not interested in teaming up with Harry or any other solo One Direction singers.

Harry Styles and Ashton Irwin spent a lot of time together back when One Direction was touring with 5 Seconds of Summer. Nowadays, Irwin’s Aussie punk band is so popular that it doesn’t need a billing with 1D to sell concert tickets, but some fans of both bands probably would have loved to see 5SOS reunite with at least one member of One Direction someday. However, Ashton recently told Heatworld that he’s against the idea of 5SOS touring with a solo Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, or Niall Horan.

“No, that would be inappropriate I think,” Ashton said. “They will be just fine on their own.”

Ashton revealed that the members of One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer haven’t kept in touch since they stopped touring together, but Harry Styles hasn’t completely forgotten about his old tourmates.

“We don’t actually [speak anymore], we’ve been really busy at the moment. I got a nice message from Harry the other day, he said, ‘congratulations on the number one album’ but that’s about it.”

At least fans of 1D and 5SOS can breathe easy knowing that there’s no bad blood between Ashton Irwin and Harry Styles.

Ashton Irwin Against Idea Of Touring With Harry Styles

It might be Ashton’s opinion that Harry Styles doesn’t need any help to launch a successful solo career, but Harry doesn’t seem so certain that he can make it happen on his own. He’s proved that he can sing and write songs, and he’ll likely bring a huge chunk of the One Direction fanbase with him if he does decide to test the waters as a solo artist during the boy band’s upcoming year-long break. However, if Harry is hellbent on becoming the next Justin Timberlake, he might be able to ensure success by convincing one of the most in-demand music producers in the business to work with him.

According to the Daily Star, Harry is hoping that Swedish music producer Max Martin will agree to help him launch his solo career. Martin has worked with Harry’s ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, in the past. However, an insider revealed that Harry doesn’t care — he’ll share Martin with Swift because he’s such a big fan of the producer’s work. A few of Martin’s biggest hits include the Britney Spears song “Baby One More Time,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.”

It might seem inevitable that Harry Styles will eventually pursue a career as a solo music artist, but all those rumors that he’s trying to become a double threat probably aren’t true. As the Inquisitr previously reported, producer Harvey Weinstein is convinced that Harry has what it takes to be a successful actor, and he’s even said there’s “no question” that the singer will star in scripted movies someday. According to the Mirror, One Direction songwriter Wayne Hector has also declared Harry “a star” who might start pursuing parts in motion pictures.

However, Harry recently hinted that he’s not buying all the Hollywood hype. During a recent interview with Fabulous magazine, the singer finally addressed the rumors that he’ll get into acting during One Direction’s break.

“I’m not so sure about that. I like to keep busy and I like to see my mates. I’m really happy,” Harry said. “I’ve always had great people around me. I keep wondering whether I should actually watch those great shows that everyone else talks about and I’ve missed, like Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Or should I just move on?!”

In other words, Harry Styles would like to spend his time off studying great acting performances, not doing any acting himself.

Do you think Harry Styles will work at all during his year-long break, or will he make the most of his time off from touring and recording by binge-watching everything he missed while he was busy boy banding around the globe?
