Upcoming K-Dramas For November 2015 — What Are The Most Anticipated Korean Dramas This Month?

Within the month of October, K-drama fans were treated to a plethora of unique shows sure to keep their interest. Twenty Again, starring Choi Ji Woo and Lee Sang Yoon, ended on a high note while She Was Pretty, starring Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon, dominated. Finally, Yong Pal concluded with the best ratings so far this year, topping off more than 20 percent.

The aforementioned K-dramas are the ones that stood out, mostly because they are doing so well not just on their respective stations in Korea, but also on Viki and DramaFever. However, with certain K-dramas ending soon, some are wondering what September has in store for fans. Thankfully, there is a new batch of K-dramas ready for viewing this coming month, as detailed by KdramaStars.

The first K-drama of notice is Oh My Venus. Formerly known as Oh My God, it stars So Ji Sub (Warm and Cozy, which is also known as Jeju Island Gatsby, Thousands Years of Love) and Shin Min Ah (The Devil, My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox).

This show is lacking any real detail on its plot but seems to have elements of what made She Was Pretty popular. Kim Young Ho (So Ji Sub) is a personal trainer to Hollywood stars. However, he suffers a devastating injury during his childhood days despite coming from a wealthy family. Young Ho now overcomes his problems with patience and stubbornness. Kang Joo Eun (Shin Min Ah) is a 33-year-old lawyer who is struggling to support her family. Time has effected her in which she is overweight and not as attractive as she used to be.

Other actors filling out the main cast includes Yoo In Young (Mask, My Love From Another Star) and Jung Gyeo Woon (Birth of a Beauty, Sign). Oh My Venus is being produced by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and will air on their KBS2 network starting on November 16, 2015 up to January 5, 2015. A total of 16 episodes will air on Monday and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. KST, the time slot currently occupied by Sassy Go Go(which ends this week).

The second K-drama of notice is Reply 1988. Also known as Answer to 1988 or Answer Me 1988, this is kind of a spin-off (or prequel) to previous K-dramas Reply 1994 and Reply 1997. The main cast features Hye Ri (Hyde, Jekyll, Me), Ryu Joon Yul (No Tomorrow, Sociophobia), Go Kyung Pyo (Potato Star 2013QR3, Flower Boy Next Door), Park Bo Gum (Producer, Bridal Mask), and Lee Dong Hwi (Divorce Lawyer in Love, The Beauty Inside).

A synopsis for the K-drama is limited in which it only says it is about a small cluster of families and is set in 1988. If it is anything like the other series, then it will center on high school or college students at the time and what they went through.

Reply 1988 is being produced by tvN and will air and started airing on November 6, 2015 up until an unknown date sometime in January 2016. The K-drama airs on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. KST. It is slotted to air 20 episodes.

The final K-drama of notice is The Secret Message. It will star T.O.P. (from K-pop group Big Bang) and Juri Ueno (Girl In The Sunny Place, The Beauty Inside).

Woo Hyun (T.O.P.) is a Korean man and Haruka (Juri Ueno) is a Japanese woman. Both live different lives, but carry emotional scars from their first loves. Woo Hyun has yet to get over his first love, but wants to believe in true love. Haruka on the other hand wants answers to hard questions she has pertaining to love. Apparently, the find what they are searching for within each other.

Unlike the previously mentioned K-dramas, The Secret Message is an online drama co-produced by CJ E&M and Amuse Inc. and will be aired via Naver TV Cast, DTV, and LINE. It has already released on November 2, 2015. Since this K-drama is not on a regular Korean network per se, it is unknown if it will air on DramaFever or Viki for those living outside of Korea.
