Now you know: driving a lawn mover under the influence is illegal in Maine


A Maine man has been arrested and charged with driving a lawn mower under the influence.

51 year old Danforth Ross was arrested after a number of people flagged down a state trooper to report that they had seen a man erratically driving a lawn mower down the road.

According to local reports, Ross had taken his lawn mower to a store to buy more beer, but not his car because he’d already lost his drivers license. The passenger on the lawn mower (it must have been a big lawn mower) was not charged despite also being drunk and partially assisting in the lawn mowers operation.

Surprisingly people being arrested for driving lawn mowers under the influence isn’t that uncommon in the United States. Here’s footage from a similar incident a couple of years back:
