Khloé Kardashian Takes A Break From Visiting Lamar Odom, Describes Visits As ‘Extremely Emotionally Draining’
Khloé Kardashian has spent hours at Lamar Odom’s bedside for weeks since he was found unconscious at a Nevada Brothel on October 13. Now that Lamar’s condition has stabilized and he has left the ICU, a source close to Khloé said that the Keeping Up With The Kardashian reality star will be visiting Odom less, according to People.
“Since Lamar stabilized and moved from the ICU to the inpatient rehabilitation unit, Khloé has visited less. After being by his side 24/7 during his stay in the ICU, it’s not strange that she is visiting less. Khloé has behaved like most people do.”
Lamar Odom has been transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles so he can get the “best possible medical treatment possible.” The famed medical facility is well-equipped to take care of Lamar, whose system was found to have contained cocaine and opiates, the source says.
“For someone with heart problems, there is really no better cardiology team in the country than the Cedars team. Cedars has put together the best team possible.”
After Odom woke up from a four-day coma, Khloe Kardashian took the time to thank friends and family who sent their prayers and well-wishes to the basketball athlete.
“I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made,” Khloé wrote on her website.
The former Lakers star is well on his way to recovery, as it was confirmed Friday that his kidneys are functioning properly. Lamar Odom is now off kidney dialysis, as previously reported in The Inquisitr.
The source says that Khloé’s visits to Lamar Odom proved instrumental in raising his spirits while he was being treated in the ICU. The two also called off their divorce proceedings, despite the fact that the rest of the Kardashian family have reservations about it, the Hollywood Life reports. Lamar Odom promised his wife that he will never use drugs again. Khloe apparently took him up on his word. Her family, however, remains skeptic but decided not to say anything for fear that it would negatively affect Odom’s health.
“Lamar continues to fight and does very well with his therapies,” says the source. “He is making slow progress and sometimes is frustrated. Khloé always seem to cheer him up. She made a few short visits over the weekend.”
One of the aforementioned short visits occurred on Halloween, as Khloé tweeted a Halloween photo while she was staying in Lamar’s hospital room. She also spent the entire day with her estranged husband on Saturday, as reported in US Weekly.
Kardashian posted a photo of a plastic Halloween pumpkin jar. Clearly seen in the background is some of the medical equipment that was used to treat Odom.

Khloé would later tweet a response to one of her friends confirming that she stayed the entire day in Lamar Odom’s hospital room.

Speculation as to whether the two are finally back together abounds, accompanied by rumors that Khloe and James Harden are still a couple, as reported in ET Online.
We can only guess for now, but at this point, Khloé Kardashian is only concerned about the state of Lamar’s health.
“There is a very long road ahead of [Lamar],” Kardashian says in People‘s latest cover story. “He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road. I will be there supporting him every step of the way.”
