Mariah Carey Is A Diva And She Knows It, Will Never Change Ways, Loved For Attitude
Mariah Carey is known for her incredible voice and striking beauty when she owns the stage, and has been now for decades. The superstar is also known for her diva-like behaviour and has even been criticized for this aspect of her personality. However, Mariah’s fans know and love the talented star for this. Mariah, herself, is not about to apologize at all for having certain expectations and being a bit demanding.
Carey is set to make her directorial debut, and was open about her diva-ness while chatting with Entertainment Tonight on the subject of the program she has taken the director’s chair for. The movie, Christmas Melody, which is set to air on The Hallmark Channel, has been a new and exciting venture for Mariah, but she shared how she will never fully change her ways for the new role.
“I’m still always going to be a diva in certain ways, and I don’t mean that in the bad sense of the word. I just mean, like, if there’s a makeup artist there and they don’t mind touching me up while I’m directing.”
Although this is Carey’s first time directing officially, she shares that she has played the role of director on many of her own projects for music videos, in the past.
“I’ve been directing so much of my own work for a really long time. A lot of music videos that I didn’t take credit for.”
The sensational singer certainly has starred in some entertaining music videos, and if they were pulled together partially due to her direction, it’s clear that Carey may have found a new long-term calling officially in the director’s seat.
Carey is always sure to speak her mind, step out in whatever dramatic and form-fitting ensemble she desires, and does not shy away from new opportunity. The singer, who had a rough 2014 as her marriage to Nick Cannon ended and brought some unfortunate stress to Carey, has bounced back with a cheerful demeanor, new endeavors, and new man on her arm. The songstress went on in her chat with ET to describe her exciting circumstance at the moment and stated “[it’s] a new start for me.”
While filming, Carey has had a blast spending time with the star of the program, Lacey Chabert. Chabert is one of Mariah’s favorite actresses, and is certainly her favorite mean girl from the hit movie of the same title. Carey shared about her mild obsession with the film and even how she works aspects of Mean Girls into her routines on set. How very diva-like of the star.
“I was so obsessed with Mean Girls, you have no idea. We’ve worn pink on Wednesday – on Wednesdays, we wear pink.”
Carey is just the star to know how to take difficulties and make a great turn of events out of them. Since her split from Cannon, as mentioned, Carey has become serious with billionaire James Packer, and she is certainly being treated like the diva she is proud to be by her new beau. People relays how the two recently shared a beyond-lavish date night.
“Mariah Carey and boyfriend billionaire James Packer were hand-in-hand at the grand opening of his new Studio City resort in Macau, China on Tuesday. Carey, 45, and Packer, 48, celebrated the launch of the $3.2 billion Hollywood-themed casino resort together, less than one month after making their red carpet debut as a couple at The Intern premiere in New York City.”
The diva is doing just fine. People also notes that Carey’s directorial debut airs on the Hallmark Channel on December 18 at 8 pm.
