Gigi Hadid Cast In Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 And Her Reaction Is Priceless
Gigi Hadid, the 20-year-old blonde bombshell and Internet sensation, has officially been cast for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year, Us Weekly reports.
The official Victoria’s Secret Twitter account shared Gigi Hadid’s audition clip on Friday morning. The clip shows Gigi, clad in a black bra and a pair of black panties, walking the floor in front of a panel. After the audition, one of the panel members, marketing officer Ed Razek, asked the Sports Illustrated model, “What are you doing on Nov. 9th and 10th?” Gigi Hadid, visibly stunned by the question, responded with, “I don’t know!” And then Razek asked her, “Why don’t you come join?” — to which an overjoyed Hadid dropped to the floor, screamed and broke down in tears, clearly ecstatic. To say that Gigi Hadid’s reaction was adorable is a gross understatement.

Gigi Hadid, an active social media user, retweeted Victoria’s Secret’s tweet along with the caption, “Anyone that grew up w/me knows that this show has been a dream of mine 4ever! THANK U VS & Ed! Brought me to tears.”
Gigi Hadid has said many times in the past that walking the hallowed runway that is the Victoria’s Secret show has long been her dream. Hadid auditioned for a spot in the iconic fashion show last year. Unfortunately, she didn’t make the cut that time.
“Obviously, Victoria’s Secret has been a huge dream of mine my entire life. But my audition was the first time I really went for it. They asked me to come to the casting, and I trained every day and worked so, so hard for it. And you know what? At the end of the day, I was just too shy.”
Gigi Hadid did catch her big break when she was hired to model for Victoria’s Secret PINK earlier this year. Hadid, being a California-native, did a spectacular job modeling the brand at the Victoria’s Secret PINK Spring Break bash in Miami. While not as prestigious as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the gig was a huge stepping stone for Gigi Hadid, not to mention that it allowed her the opportunity to gain the experience and confidence needed to finally land her dream job this year.
In an interview with Glamour, Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Foster, talked about her daughter’s disappointment in not being cast for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year. She offered Gigi some terrific advice, which certainly proved instrumental in helping her land the dream gig this year.
“Gigi worked so hard to get the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and she didn’t get it. But you know what? That’s just life. She was sad. She was boxing at Gotham gym every day and in great shape, and it seemed like a perfect fit. But you know what? It ended up not to be. And rather than go, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry,’ I said, ‘Hey, Gigi, that’s life, baby. We’re not always going to get what we want, and this is not a rejection of you, Gigi, as a human being. This is just redirection for you into something that’s going to be much bigger.’ She looked at me like, ‘What do you mean?’ And I go, ‘If it’s meant to be, it’ll happen at another time. It wasn’t meant to happen today.'”
The 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is scheduled to be filmed in New York and will be aired in the U.S. on December 8. Gigi Hadid will run the catwalk this year along with Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo and Lily Aldridge.
