Blake Shelton Ready For Miranda Lambert Jokes At CMAs
It is almost time for the 2015 CMAs, and Blake Shelton is already prepared for this one. It is hosted every year by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. These two make hilarious jokes all night, including singing a few songs that make fun of fellow country stars. It is all in good fun, though, and luckily, Blake Shelton knows that it is just the way it works, and jokes are going to happen about his split from Miranda Lambert. E! Online shared what Blake had to say about knowing that the jokes are going to come and preparing for it.
While on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Blake Shelton shared his thoughts on what will happen that night and how he is going to just roll with it.
“This year’s gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes. Because we are… it’s such a family. Everybody there is friends. There’s gotta be one about me and Miranda. [Host] Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn’t look down there and go ‘Ha ha!’ You have to address the elephant in the room. We’ve had the conversations like, ‘OK, dude. I’ll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.’ I know it’s coming.”
People shared that while on the show, Blake Shelton also teased about his connection with Rihanna while she is on The Voice this season. Obviously, the two are not more than just friends, but Blake Shelton was teasing the possibility.
“She’s such a smart a**. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m totally going to push this girl around with my crazy wit. I never could get the upper hand with her. The only thing I could embarrass her about a little bit was… because I was trying to get her to be flirty, a little bit. I mean, why not? I mean, I’m a perfect match for Rihanna… I was coming up with our couple name. Blihanna was one of them. I tried Rake.”
Back in July, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got divorced after 4 years of marriage. These two seemed like they were the perfect match, but surprisingly, things didn’t work out. They had a prenup, and the divorce went really fast. Rumors have been flying that both are moving on, but if Blake Shelton or Miranda Lambert is dating, neither one of them have admitted to it yet.

Since 2007, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have been going to the CMAs together. This will be the first year in a long time that they are going alone. It would be pretty shocking if either one of them decided to bring a date along for the big night. It is pretty normal for someone not ready to share their relationship to bring a family member or someone from their management team as their date.
So far, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have been getting along on social media, and are saying that they are still friends. It will be interesting to see if they avoid each other at the CMAs, or if Miranda and Blake will be polite talking to each other throughout the night. Luckily, Blake Shelton is ready to handle the teasing during the show, and hopefully, Miranda is up for it, too. It is going to be a long night if she isn’t ready for the jokes because they are going to happen, but hopefully it’ll only be a couple of jokes about Shelton and Lambert.
