Kate Middleton: Where The Jetsetter Duchess Has Travelled And Where She’s Headed Next
There is no doubt that since tying the knot with Prince William four years ago, Kate Middleton has been whisked away on some pretty exciting and exotic adventures. Mostly, the journeys have been in the name of royal affairs, however, Will and Kate have also managed to sneak in a couple getaways of their own leisure and choosing.
The Duchess and her Duke are constantly in demand and have made their way all over the globe to various commonwealth destinations as well as non-monarch-affiliated nations, such as the United States. It certainly doesn’t seem like much of a bother to be expected to travel to such locales over the past years since Kate and Will wed.
Pop Sugar relays a general overview of destinations, and it may result in slight envy.
“From the sub-Arctic wilderness to a desert island paradise and the docks of Copenhagen to a snowy Winter wonderland, we chart the countries Kate has visited since becoming HRH.”
It is no surprise that the young royals enjoy a family getaway to the tropics at least once a year. Therefore, one destination that Middleton has enjoyed on a number of occasions is the gorgeous island of Mustique in the Grenadines. The private vacationing spot has been a favorite of the Middletons for over a decade, and Kate has spent time there each year spanning 2011 to 2014. Surely a tradition, the couple will likely return once again this year.
An additional vacation spot the two enjoyed pre-baby time was the Seychelles back in 2007 and 2011. Pop Sugar shares in regards to this must-visit gem.
“The Indian Ocean favorite was where the couple took a post-split make-or-break holiday back in 2007, and they returned to North Island for their honeymoon.”
After Kate gave birth to George, the pair jetted off to the Maldives for a much-needed rest and a bit of relaxation in 2014, where “the duke and duchess spent a week alone in the Cheval Blanc Randheli resort on Noonu Atoll.”
As for the locales Kate has set out for as a means to fulfill her royal duty, the list is certainly lengthy. Australia, New Zealand, Wales, Denmark, France, Belgium, Scotland, Malaysia, Switzerland, Canada, and the U.S. all welcomed the Duke and Duchess on their tours.
Upcoming months will see to it that William and Kate touch down in additional exciting locations. Kate, who took time off from royal affairs in order to care for her new little princess, is reportedly heading on tour with William in early 2016. The couple is apparently set to leave their little ones at home for the journey.
As for the destinations the two will arrive in, Hello Magazine has reported that the exact destinations are not fully decided on and that Kate and William don’t have the final say in the matter. The source who spoke with the publication also notes that although the Caribbean has been a point of discussion, it is not a certainty that the two will journey there. There had been reports that the Caribbean is a strong contender. The publication relays the source’s words.
“We are aware of the report about the Caribbean, but the location is yet to be decided. There are other considerations, such as where the Foreign Office – who have a big say on these matters – want them to go.”
The source verifies that Kate and William may be taking off on both a spring and autumn tour in the upcoming year. Perhaps they will take the two little tykes, George and Charlotte, on the second tour. George was, after all, taken to Australia during the couple’s royal tour of 2014.
