NeNe Leakes Returning To ‘RHOA’ To Cause Drama With The Housewives

NeNe Leakes decided to leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta behind earlier this year because she wanted to focus on other business ventures. NeNe wanted to work on her acting career and she wanted to possibly return to Broadway after her Cinderella success. This week, Leakes announced that she would be returning to Broadway for the second time, as she will be starring in Chicago.

But NeNe Leakes has plenty of other things up her sleeve. She will also be appear alongside Betty White as a panelist in ABC’s upcoming revival of the classic game show To Tell the Truth. In addition, Leakes has her own clothing line, and she may have other smaller projects in the works. But it is possible that NeNe misses the drama from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, because she may be returning to the hit Bravo show.

According to a new E! Online report, NeNe Leakes is now returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta to shock the ladies in a big surprise return. Apparently, NeNe is expected to crash the ladies’ trip to Jamaica and surprisingly stop by. A source close to production has revealed that NeNe wanted to return and cause some drama. Based on Leakes’ Instagram, it doesn’t sound like she is traveling, but she has never commented on The Real Housewives of Atlanta trips on Instagram while filming.

Leakes will surprise Sheree Whitfield, newcomer Shamea Morton, newcomer Kim Fields, and all of the returning wives, including Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, and Porsha Williams. Before Leakes left the show, she was close with Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams, so it is possible that these ladies told Leakes about what was happening on the trip and asked her come set the ladies straight.

“This was definitely a hard decision for me,” Leakes told People when she decided to leave the show, adding, “Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”

At the time NeNe Leakes left the show behind, she had many things lined up to work out. But many of the things fell through. She was scheduled to film a show for Bravo with Kim Zolciak, but the show fell through due to scheduling issues. NeNe also hinted that she was working on a big project with a legendary star, but nothing has come from that deal.

“I’m actually going to be doing a new primetime television show with a big legend. All of my fans will get to see me be really happy, witty and funny and tell all of those one liners that I always have said on Housewives,” she reveled, adding, “I feel a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.”

Of course, Leakes has many other projects going for her, including her return to Broadway. But it is odd that she would return to the show that was heavy weight for her. She previously revealed that she felt that a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, because she didn’t want to film the show. Now, she is willingly returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta to stir up drama — the one thing she wanted to leave behind. It is possible Bravo offered her some cash to return to the show, and she felt it was the right decision for her.
