Olivia Wilde Blasts Donald Trump’s ‘Sickening’ Comments About Illegal Immigration, Responds To Angry Trump Supporters
Olivia Wilde isn’t wild about Donald Trump or the GOP candidate’s views on illegal immigration. Based on her recent comments about the man who has more -isms than Charlie Sheen, the activist actress doesn’t think that it would be super-classy to ask Mexico to build a huge wall on its border with the U.S.
However, Olivia Wilde doesn’t just have beef with the billionaire businessman. She dared to criticize the Donald, and some of his fervent fans responded to the actress in a very Trump-esque fashion — they started insulting her on Twitter. Perhaps Jeb Bush can thank the “pretty hot” star of TRON: Legacy for temporarily attracting the attention of a few of the Trump supporters that would normally be needling him on the social networking site.
According to Page Six, Olivia Wilde shared her thoughts on Donald Trump’s presidential bid while attending a Manhattan screening of Ellis, a short film starring Robert De Niro. The short focuses on the struggles of the influx of immigrants who entered the U.S. through Ellis Island in the early twentieth century, and evidently it made Olivia think about the immigration crises different areas of the world are dealing with today. Her comments on these crises included some words that seemed to be aimed at Donald Trump.
“[America] was a beacon of hope for so many … yet some in this country have developed this xenophobia that totally conflicts with what we’re based on,” Olivia Wilde said.
“The fact that we can have someone running for president who openly projects that xenophobia is really sickening, particularly when you look at a film like this and remember our roots.”
It wasn’t long before Trump supporters saw Olivia Wilde’s comments and decided to fire back, but she didn’t let their insults get to her. According to ETonline, Olivia’s father is Irish, so some Trump fans mistakenly thought that they could tell her that she has no business weighing in on American politics and should go live in Ireland. Olivia Wilde responded by saying that her home is in NYC.
Ok Trump-lovers, I will do as you suggest and go back to where I came from… which happens to be NYC so I’m just gonna chill. Thanks!

Olivia Wilde has dual American and Irish citizenship, but she did once say that she considers herself more Irish than American, the Daily Mail reports. She revealed that her family used to spend their summers in her father’s homeland.
“I am an Irish citizen,” she said. “Growing up I really felt more Irish than American because, as a kid, summer is when you really develop.”
Nevertheless, some Trump supporters realized that they can’t claim that Olivia Wilde can’t live in America, so they simply resorted to calling her names.
Classy! “@Go_TeaParty: @oliviawilde You just got on our no watch list.whore Go Trump”

According to the Guardian, Donald Trump has insulted illegal immigrants from Mexico by calling them “rapists” who are “bringing drugs” into the U.S. Olivia Wilde’s new nemesis claimed that he would prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country by building a “great, great wall” between America and Mexico, and CNN reports that Trump wants to make Mexico pay for the wall. According to Fox News, Trump has also suggested that Syrian refugees taken in by the U.S. might be secret ISIS militants, so he’ll send them all back home if he is elected president.
This isn’t the first time Olivia Wilde has dumped on Donald Trump — she previously poked fun at his super-luxurious, yellowish locks by comparing his hair to a pubic wig. Wilde shared a Twitter photo of a triangle of unruly fuzz in response to Trump’s announcement that he was running for president.
“This merkin also has cash to burn and might as well run for president,” Wilde tweeted.
Olivia Wilde campaigned for Barack Obama, and it looks like she’s supporting Hillary Clinton this time around. The Meadowland star told the Daily Beast that she was “excited” when Clinton announced that she was running, and Wilde knows exactly what she wants the former first lady to focus on if she does win the presidency: Wall Street reform, equal rights for women, improving the justice system, and protecting Obamacare.
Olivia is already fighting hard for Hillary Clinton by defending the candidate from sexist attacks from those who find it a bit unnerving that she’s not June Cleaver.
“It’s pure sexism,” Olivia told the Daily Beast. “This b******t about her not seeming ‘warm’ enough is pure misogyny. It’s ridiculous. I think she’s one of the loveliest, most personable politicians I’ve ever met—much warmer than other politicians, in fact. That’s pure sexism.”
The Donald better watch his back — Olivia Wilde is a little more creative at coming up with insults than he is (comparing someone to a pubic wig definitely “trumps” calling them a loser or a moron), and she’s also doing a pretty decent job of flattering his competition.
