Fiona Apple Releases Music Video For ‘Every Single Night’ [Video]

The wait is over for Fiona Apple fans. The singer premiered her first music video this morning for her new single “Every Single Night.”

And it’s weird.

Apple, who is releasing her first album in seven years, is seen covered in snails, wearing a dead squid hat, feeding in alligator, and tied to puppet strings in the new video.

Apple said:

“I told [director] Joey [Cahill] just to come up with a bunch of things and do things to me and put me in situations and surprise me. One thing I wanted to have happen was to be covered in snails. I laid in a bed of soil and they put snails all over me. And then they brought in [stuff] that I would not have asked for. He put a dead squid on my head.”

Apple’s new album, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, hits stores on June 19th.

You may think that the album title is a little long, but it’s nothing compared to Apple’s 1999 album, When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He’ll Win the Whole Thing ‘Fore He Enters the Ring There’s No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won’t Matter, Cuz You’ll Know That You’re Right, which is probably the longest album title ever.

Here’s Fiona Apple’s new single.
