Amber Rose Has Every Reason To Hate ‘GQ’ Feature Calling Her ‘Wiz Khalifa’s Baby Mama’ And ‘Kanye’s Ex’

Amber Rose has been making a lot of headlines following her Slutwalk and the fact that she’s made peace with her ex and father of her child, Wiz Khalifa. The star has more than proven that she has evolved beyond the men she once stood beside and has come into her own. Rose excitedly announced that the ever fashionable GQ magazine had reached out to the model for a story, and she would be gracing the cover. GQ did a gorgeous and sensual photo shoot to accompany a profile feature, but, unfortunately, the piece has only left Amber Rose angry and disappointed.

Rose completely tore GQ magazine apart after the story was released on Wednesday. Despite her evolution as a celebrity, it seems the magazine is still stuck in the past, and their introduction of the How to Be a Bad B***h writer was less than flattering to her talents. Amber took to Instagram and shared a snippet of the introduction before showing exactly which part of the GQ magazine’s feature appalled her.

“Really @gq??? I’m so much more then Kanye’s Ex or Wiz’s baby’s mama. Damn, why the fuck did u guys reach out to me for this article and photoshoot? To dumb me down? I talked about feminism and my Slutwalk… Wtf nice title smh I expected so much more from u guys and I’m so disappointed. I was so excited to be featured in GQ not realizing I was shooting for a tabloid. My slutwalk was for ignorant shit like this. Oh “Her beautiful dark twisted journey to the top”? Nice pun. Negative af. Thx for nothing.”

The magazine did something that the feminist has fought so hard to try and move beyond: They reduced her to being nothing more than a product of the men that were formerly in her life. The feature on Rose seemed to be less about Rose’s success and more about whose ex-girlfriend and baby mama she happens to be. In Amber’s Instagram post, she compares the magazine to a tabloid and says that the Slutwalk she had organized was exactly to avoid and fight against such treatment of women.

USA Today included some information from the actual interview with GQ that definitely gives insight into why the introduction the magazine used is so very upsetting. She blatantly discusses the fact that many people only see her as Kanye’s ex and how she has done her best to rework that narrow-minded view to have honest discussions about female sexuality. Amber went on to explain how she recently gave a lecture at a college. For the most part, she felt that before she even started, many students had already reduced her to just being famous because she slept with Kanye or had a child for Wiz Khalifa and more than likely thinking, “Who the (expletive) wants to listen to her?”

That struggle is something the Sister Code actress constantly has to overcome. She always has the descriptors of “Kanye’s ex” or “Wiz’s baby’s mama” being used to sum her up. To then have the very same magazine that got to the heart of that feeling in the in-depth feature turn around and put “Kanye’s infamous ex, Wiz Khalifa’s baby mama” in their introduction to her is no doubt reason for anger on her part.

Amber Rose also took exception to the magazine using the fact that she was a stripper during her teen years, especially since it too was used during the introductory part of the feature. Another photo was posted to her Instagram with a picture of herself opposite another teen stripper, Channing Tatum. Tatum’s past as a stripper may not be well known since it is not a part of his past usually featured or mentioned in stories about the actor and this is exactly Amber’s point.

Rollingout mentioned that GQ magazine has not yet responded to the accusations and statements made by Rose. They also went on to speculate that it is doubtful she will be gracing the cover of the magazine again since there is now “bad blood” between them. However, if the magazine is truly of the classy and stylish caliber that it is known for, an apology to Rose should be forthcoming.

Amber is more than just Wiz Khalifa’s or Kanye West’s anything, Amber Rose is a mother, writer, feminist and an actress — among a host of other descriptors.
