Taylor Swift Got Tipsy, Petted The Weeknd’s Hair At A Party
The Weeknd recalled the time when Taylor Swift couldn’t stop petting his hair at a party. It appears that the country-turned-pop singer got a little too turned up at a party earlier this year.
According to a report via Refinery 29, Taylor Swift, 25, got a little tipsy and handsy with “The Hills” singer. In his latest interview with Rollingstone Magazine, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, revealed that Swift enjoys drinking and partying, unlike the good-girl image that she portrays in the media.
The R&B singer revealed to the magazine that his signature hairstyle caught the attention of Taylor Swift at a Grammys after-party celebrating the win of Sam Smith. The party took place at a $80 million mansion in Bel Air. Taylor’s arch-nemesis Katy Perry and her good friend Ed Sheeran were also in attendance, while the successful EDM duo Disclosure provided the music.
The Weeknd recalled his encounter with Swift. He said that things got a little awkward when she “schooled me own my own s**t” and petted his hair.
“She actually schooled me on my own s**t. She was like, ‘I’ve been listening to ‘The Morning’ [from ‘House of Balloons’] for years – it’s one of my favorite songs ever!’ I mean, she might have just Googled it. But she seemed genuine.”
If you need any more evidence as to whether or not Taylor Swift was drinking at the after-party, then The Weeknd’s following quote may give you a clue.
“The whole time she was talking, she was kind of, like, petting my hair? I think she was just drawn to it—she might have been a little gone off a few drinks.”
This isn’t the first time that the wild Grammys after-party was talked about. Taylor Swift’s BFF Ed Sheeran recalled the moment when he and the “Wildest Dreams” singer hid from the police. But during Swift and Sheeran’s interview with Radio 1, the redhead songwriter revealed that he and Swift were at Mark Ronson’s hotel room when the cops arrived to the insanely loud bash. Looks like Swift and Sheeran were partying all night long!
“We ended up at a party in Mark Ronson’s room and then the police shut it down.”
Taylor added that the heart-pounding incident made her feel like she was one of the cool kids.
“That made us feel so cool. And then we had to hide in a bathroom. There was like 40 of us. I grabbed Ed and I was like, ‘Cops are here, come with me!’ I never thought I’d be the one saying that.”
It appears that Taylor doesn’t remember her strange encounter with The Weeknd. She explained that weirder things went on as the night progressed, in which she found out the next day from the 25-year-old “Can’t Feel My Face” singer.
“I woke up with an email from The Weeknd, and he was like, ‘You told me how beautiful I was for like 15 minutes straight and started to pet my hair. It looked really cool that night and I apparently went on and on about it. I was like, ‘You’re so magnificent!'”

Taylor Swift is not usually the type to admit that she likes to kick back and down a few beers at parties, especially since most of her fan base is still extremely young. During Swift’s December 2014 interview with Barbara Walters on her 10 Most Fascinating People special, the singer-songwriter revealed that she waited until her 21st birthday to enjoy her first alcoholic drink. Swift added that she feels responsible for setting the right example to her younger fans, which is why you won’t see her falling down drunk outside of nightclubs.
The last time the “Bad Blood” singer was seen kicking back drinks was during the 2014 New York City Knicks game against the Chicago Bulls. Taylor and her best friend Karlie Kloss were seen enjoying beers courtside. The always-responsible Taylor also had a bottle of Diet Coke close by, so that she wouldn’t get too tipsy that night.
