Are Kris Jenner, Kardashian Clan Taking Advantage Of Lamar Odom’s Condition To Boost Ratings?

Kris Jenner will reportedly handle all of Lamar Odom’s media interests once he is strong enough to get out of the hospital.

The report comes a week after the former NBA player was rushed to the hospital because of drug overdose.

The 35-year-old Odom was found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada after an entire weekend of drug use. In reports following the incident, it was alleged that he spent $75,000 in his four-day stay at the brothel.

According to Jenner, 59, doing an interview could help Odom deal with his drug addiction. His first interview, in particular, could be the “best therapy” for the former Lakers star, as reported by Hollywood Life.

Unfortunately, it seems Odom is not at all pleased with all the media hype the Kardashians are pouring into his condition. Just a few months back, the athlete’s best friend died from drug abuse, and he called his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, to support him during the tough time. However, when he found out that even something as personal as that was aired on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Odom was reportedly “inconsolable” and “irate” about the breach of trust.

“He kept saying he was better than the Kardashians and ‘f–k them,’ ” an insider told the Daily Mail.

“He said all they had ever done for him was exploit him for the show. He went through ­every one of them — Kim, Kris, Caitlyn… He felt chewed up and spat out,” the source added.

It also led him to believe that the Kardashians are just using him to boost the ratings of the TV reality series.

This is probably why in spite of the fact that Odom and Khloe, 31, have already signed divorce papers in June, the Kardashian’s ex-husband is still one of the “plot points” in the show.

“She’s always talking about how much she loves the guy, but has no problem exploiting Lamar for her gain. How low can Khloé go? Lamar would call her about losing his best friend this past summer, and the first thing she thinks is to document it?” says an insider.

With the usual “exploitation” of Odom by the Kardashians, it may not be so surprising that his hospitalization has virtually stopped their world just to focus on him.

In a report by New York Post, upon hearing about Lamar’s condition, Khloe, Kris, and Kim, 34, who is seven months pregnant, hopped on a private plane to immediately visit him. However, the report added that a camera crew also went with the group. This could mean that the Kardashians are planning to include Odom’s unfortunate experience to the upcoming 11th season of KUWTK.

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner reportedly sees talk show host Oprah Winfrey as the perfect person to conduct Odom’s first interview upon leaving the hospital.

An exclusive source said in a report that Kris Jenner thinks that asking Oprah to make the interview will improve his public image, as well as that of her daughter Khloe. In addition, it would be an “audience puller” for any major network in the U.S.

Winfrey, 61, showed her support for Odom and the Kardashian family. “I know how frustrating it is because you want to be able to help, you want to be able to do something,” the TV talk show queen said.

Oprah had already interviewed Khloe and Lamar in 2012, with the couple sharing their heartfelt love for one another three years after getting married.

Now that Odom is reportedly breathing on his own, it will be interesting to see whether Kris Jenner will succeed in setting up an interview with Oprah.
