WWE News: WWE Superstar Randy Orton Out With Shoulder Injury, Update On Luke Harper Missing WWE RAW

WWE RAW was quite the interesting show on Monday Night. Not only did WWE bring back a lot of legends from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to Shawn Michaels, but we also had a mini-Shield reunion of sorts for the main event. We all knew it would end the way it did because Seth Rollins couldn’t fully work with his two former Shield brethren in Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose of whom he has been bitter enemies with for over a year now.

The show also had a surprising lack of two big stars set for major storylines at WWE Hell in a Cell.

Randy Orton and Luke Harper both missed RAW, and it was shocking to see as both were scheduled for the show. Harper was even used as a teaser for the main event later in the night, but he never appeared. Erick Rowan made his return last night to sort of take his place in the Wyatt Family. If Harper has to miss any significant time, clearly WWE has a heavy in to take his place for now in the Wyatt Family. It worked out well as Rowan was set to be back at this time anyway.

According to some rumored sources, Luke Harper was said to have missed RAW due to personal reasons. While unknown exactly, if it was personal enough for him to miss a major go-home show, clearly it had to be something big. We will update you on more as it develops.

Meanwhile, Randy Orton missed the show due to an injury.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Randy Orton missed last night’s RAW and the entire Mexico Tour due to a shoulder injury. He is set for an MRI soon to know whether or not if he needs surgery. As of now, nothing more is known.

He has apparently been working with an injured shoulder for a while, and then he dislocated it this past week. Orton has a history of shoulder injuries, so the fact that he has another is nothing new at all. However, the injury will force him to miss at least a month or two of action. If he needs surgery, he may not be back until next year and may miss WrestleMania 32.

This is a huge blow to WWE as John Cena is set to take time off very soon to film a reality fitness show on the FOX Network. Orton easily could have been pushed into the main event scene against Seth Rollins while Cena was out. The injury could ruin whatever plans WWE had for Orton.

Orton RAW

This would be a big thing for younger stars who have yet to get a real chance. By not having a Randy Orton in the ring or John Cena taking time off after being a regular for the last decade, other stars can pop up and show why they deserve to be in the spotlight.

There have been plans for others to step up in the absence of Cena, but most assumed Orton would get this spot due to his already well-established character with the WWE fans. Stars like Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose may get more time now than ever before, which could end up being good for WWE at the end of the day.

WWE fans have asked for a change for some time now, and many want to see a few people get a real shot at moving up in the company. While it is sad that Randy Orton will miss time for an injury, and Luke Harper may be out for an undisclosed personal issue, some younger wrestlers could see a real opportunity. Next man up is the mentality in the world of sports and pro-wrestling, so no one can complain backstage when they have the opportunity they have asked for.
