Lamar Odom Tragedy Caused By Drug Overdose, Including 10 Herbal Viagra Supplements, Opiates, & Cocaine? [Video]

Lamar Odom is fighting for his life. As the former NBA superstar lies in a hospital after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, questions are being raised about what happened prior to the discovery of his body and a frantic call to 911. And what is now known about Lamar’s condition and the events leading up to his health crisis raise questions about the safety of what’s known as herbal Viagra as well as the drugs that Odom took, reported USA Today.

Lamar reportedly used both sexual performance supplements and cocaine prior to collapsing, but Odom had a history of drug use. Now his use of these herbal pills along with illegal drugs is causing many to seek answers about what is in those supposedly safe supplements that Lamar took at the Love Ranch brothel, discussed below.

The Food and Drug Administration has determined that the ingredients in some supplements known as “herbal Viagra” actually overlap with prescription Viagra drugs. The supplements taken by Lamar included Reload 72-hour Strong and Libimax, revealed a representative of the Nevada bordello where he was found.

In 2013, the FDA detected the active component in Viagra in Reload. Several years earlier, Libimax’s manufacturer recalled its own product when it was revealed it had an erectile dysfunction drug.

But it’s not just the specific sexual performance supplements that Lamar took. The FDA has expressed concern that other sexual supplements have components that are not listed on the label.

“[Swallowing one of these supplements] is like playing Russian roulette,” warned emergency doctor Robert Glatter. “You don’t know what you’re getting any time you open a bottle of ‘herbal Viagra.'”

Glatter also cautioned that the combination of ingredients could result in health crises ranging from strokes to heart attacks. The risk rises based on the dosage, and Lamar allegedly consumed 10 herbal supplements.

Odom had a long history of drug abuse, reported the Daily Mail.

Lamar’s father was an addict. One of his best friends recently died after a history of using heroin, and the sports star himself gradually failed to live up to his reputation for reasons reportedly linked to drug abuse, including marijuana.

When Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce, her husband’s drug use reportedly was one of the reasons.

Khloe Kardashian Odom and Lamar Odom are not yet officially divorced.

Lamar’s current health crisis reportedly is for an overdose of drugs, although they do not think it was an attempt at suicide. Among the drugs detected in Odom’s system were opiates and cocaine.

The former Los Angeles Clippers superstar has confessed to using marijuana but claimed that did not mean he had a problem with drugs, although on two occasions Lamar was suspended for violation of the no-drugs rule.

“I made the mistake once, now it’s twice. I feel like I can get through it, I know I can get through it, I’m strong enough….I chose to experiment with marijuana, that’s why I’m here right now. I’ll be receiving counseling. That’s not rehab.”

Life seemed to be looking up for Lamar when he and Khloe married in a fabulous Beverly Hills ceremony. They even had their own show, Khloé & Lamar.

But then he was arrested on DUI charges and sentenced to treatment for alcohol abuse for three months and probation for three years.

As the Inquisitr reported, although Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce, the proceedings were never completed.

Khloe Kardashian (L) and Lamar Odom had their own reality show at one point.

The 31-year-old star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and her 35-year-old estranged husband had almost completed the divorce proceedings by signing off on the documents. But although Khloe and Lamar may have assumed that was the final step, it’s not done yet legally. In order for Kardashian to officially divorce Odom, a judge must finalize it.

“Any medical decisions are up to Khloe,” said an insider.

With Lamar reportedly still unconscious and on life support, that leaves Kardashian with difficult decisions that could come down to life and death.
