Lamar Odom Medical Update: Former NBA Star’s Health Reportedly ‘Deteriorating,’ Was Herbal Viagra Spiked?
Lamar Odom has everyone on edge as he continues to fight for his life. By now, everyone is probably aware of the media firestorm that has been created due to Lamar Odom’s recent health crisis. For those who don’t know, the former NBA star was found unconscious inside the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Almost immediately after Lamar Odom was rushed to Nevada hospital, media outlets began reporting that he was “fighting for his life,” which led to heightened speculation about the series of events that led to his condition. Now, fans and social media users everywhere are waiting on updated reports about his condition and latest news suggests his health is “deteriorating.” According to the Huffington Post, Lamar Odom’s health is still declining, despite reports of progress.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, TMZ reported the medical update shortly after news outlets ran a story insisting that Lamar Odom had squeezed his wife, Khloe Kardashian’s, hand. Although many fans viewed the movement as a form of improvement, doctors still speculate that it may have been just a reflex. LA Daily News writer, Mark Medina, also shared an update via Twitter indicating that a source had revealed Lamar Odom’s health was declining, despite the reports about improvement.

The tweet about Lamar Odom has led many users to believe the good outweighs the bad, but Medina took the time to offer clarity about the statement. “I trust where I get my information,” Medina tweeted. “But to clarify, this is all relative. Lamar is in bad shape. But he’s better than before.”

According to USA Today, several details about Lamar Odom’s medical status have been revealed. It has been reported that the former Los Angeles Laker has suffered kidney failure, in addition, to brain damage. “They were worried about his kidneys,” a source at the hospital told The News on Wednesday, according to Us Weekly. “They were failing today, but they gave him dialysis. His doctors think he could be OK,” the source said. “He is still critical, in ICU. So, anything can happen.”
However, there are no further details specifying the extent of the damage. But, what has captured the attention of the media is that recent reports have revealed that a number of substances have contributed to Odom’s ailing health.

According to New York Daily News, cocaine and “up to 10 sexual performance supplements,” also referred to as herbal Viagra, were found in Lamar Odom’s system. On the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 14, Sheriff Sharon Wehrly briefly discussed the series of events that transpired from the time first responders arrived at the Love Ranch to the present moment.
“They confirmed his (cocaine) usage on Saturday but were unsure if it had continued throughout the weekend,” Sheriff Wehrly said at a media conference on Wednesday afternoon. “They also informed dispatch that he had used up to 10 tabs of sexual performance supplements.”
Although the herbal viagra may have contributed to Lamar Odom’s downfall, another theory questions whether or not the supplements were spiked. According to USA Today, regulators and experts claim sexual enhancement drugs found in brothels are often laced with “powerful and hidden pharmaceuticals, despite labels claiming they only contain herbs and other natural ingredients.”

Lamar Odom reportedly took cocaine, along with the staggering amount of sexual enhancement pills. Although the cocaine and herbal Viagra concoction is said to be potentially dangerous as it is, the drug and supplement mixture has a higher chance of being potentially deadly when heightened dosages and other drugs are included. So, there is a possibility the concoction played a major role in Lamar’s deteriorating health. However, the theory has yet to be proven.
