The Band Perry just released the title and cover art for their new album, Heart + Beat, via Instagram. The band of two brothers and a sister posted the cover art Friday evening for their new album, which is due out on November 20, 2015. The trio told Taste of Country that they were “dreaming in color” for the new album — apparently the color yellow — but said that there is more to come. “Everything is so colorful and enthusiastic and happy,” Kimberly Perry said.

“We’re walking out of the studio with giant smiles on our faces.”

The Band Perry consists of vocal singer Kimberly Perry, 32, and her two brothers Reid, 26, and Neil, 25. Besides performing with his siblings, Neil also dabbles in photography — he takes photos of the group and his family often. Some of his work can be seen on Country Weekly. The band signed with Republic Nashville in 2009 and released their first album in 2010, the self-titled The Band Perry. Their second album was released in 2013, entitled Pioneer. Heart + Beat will be their third studio album.

The first single for the album, “Live Forever,” was released in August and has more of a pop/rock feel than the country sound the band started with. It’s almost as if they are playing the exact opposite of one of their hits, “If I Die Young.” That song was a more country-style tune about dying young. “Live Forever” is more of a pop/rock anthem and is about living forever, which is what youth sometimes seem to think, but death is still the main character of their song. Their second album also had a hit with “Better Dig Two,” which was yet another dance with death, albeit a campy extreme one. The song was released on country music stations, however, and is currently at No. 17 on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown.

Kimberly told CMT that this they had more fun with this new album than any other project.

“On every other project, we’ve been touring while we’ve been recording. This time, we gave ourselves the luxury of taking a moment off the road to really just wake up and go to sleep every day thinking about the album and our future music.”

The band also told CMT that they “fully embrace the direction country music is headed but are also respectful of its past.”

“What I know for sure is that our fans have always supported the three of us and have encouraged us to reach as far as we possibly can with our music,” Kimberly said. “We are so proud of where country music’s history lies. We’re also really, really excited about the future of country.”

“I feel like for the first time ever, it seems like country has no creative glass ceiling. And that’s a great thing for country music.”

What do you think of The Band Perry’s new sound? Do you think they are country or pop/rock? Do you think country should sound like “Live Forever?” Feel free to discuss your opinions below.
