‘The Incredibles 2’ In 2019? Fans Confused And Upset By Release Date
The Incredibles 2 finally has a confirmed release date — and you have to wait nearly four years to see it!
As reported by Yahoo! Movies, Disney made quite a few changes to its release date schedule for the next several years.
The release of the highly anticipated follow-up sequel to the 2004 film The Incredibles has been scheduled for June 21, 2019.

This means that The Incredibles 2 will be released 15 years after the first film was released in 2004, making it the longest wait between follow-up installments in the history of Pixar so far. The simple fact that The Incredibles 2 has an official release date that can be marked on calendars around the world is a major highlight.
However, many fans still did not appreciate the news of having to wait four more years.

The fact that they are releasing Toy Story 4 (unwanted) before The Incredibles 2 (long awaited) is making me sad.

Fans that were expecting The Incredibles 2 a lot sooner than four years from now were not the only ones disappointed by the updated release schedule. Many lovers of the Toy Story franchise were also let down by Disney’s decision to change the release date of the fourth installment.
Instead of heading into theaters on June 16, 2017, Toy Story 4 will make its big-screen premiere on June 15, 2018. Why would Disney push back the release a year?

According to reports, the shift was to make room for the newly announced June 2017 release of Cars 3 — yet another decision that left fans confused.
So you’re telling me that Disney delayed Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2 to release Cars 3 first? pic.twitter.com/R8hb9Xg3Ww

That moment we watch in horror as @DisneyPixar tell us that Cars 3 comes before Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2 pic.twitter.com/qwvWL9lj25 — Scott Skellington (@itsScott_who) October 8, 2015
The release of Toy Story 4 being pushed back a year in favor of another Pixar movie doesn’t necessarily leave a good taste in the mouths of many fans of The Incredibles. Why not?
If Toy Story 4 can get bumped for Cars 3, what movie could possibly bump The Incredibles 2 from its current release date?
In addition to Cars 3 and Toy Story 4, there are at least four other Disney Pixar films currently scheduled for release before The Incredibles sequel: The Good Dinosaur (November 25), Finding Dory(June 17, 2016), Coco(November 22, 2017) and Gigantic(March 6, 2018).

Chances are that Pixar will at least start developing additional projects that have not been confirmed yet, which means that there is still a possibility The Incredibles 2 might be postponed yet again.
Even though the extended delay of The Incredibles 2 might seem sad now, longtime Pixar fans know that everything will likely work out for the best.
For over 20 years, Disney and Pixar have used cutting-edge technology and emotionally stirring story lines to pull the heartstrings of millions of people of all ages. The odds of that reputation being tarnished by The Incredibles 2 are slim to none.
