‘American Horror Story’ — Is Neil Patrick Harris Checking Into The ‘Hotel’? Plus, Taylor Kinney Reacts To Lady Gaga’s First TV Role

Fans are buzzing over the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel on FX. Although many fans were most excited to watch Lady Gaga make her debut in the hit horror drama, Neil Patrick Harris recently revealed that he will not be appearing in the show as the anthology series begins its fifth season.

According to MTV, Harris is will not be booking a night at the Cortez, though he did admit that he tried to get a role this season.

“I love American Horror Story, every episode, so much so that I asked to be a part of it,” Harrison stated. “I think Ryan Murphy’s dance card is quite full this season. I reached out to no response, so either there’s no vacancy now or something has gone terribly wrong.”

Harris made his debut in the show last season, playing the role of the ultra-creepy illusionist Chester in Freak Show. Although he wasn’t able to land a new part this time around, Harris did state that he very busy with his current show, Best Time Ever, so not all was lost for the actor.

Meanwhile, with Gaga set to make her first ever appearance as a lead character on a television series, she recently told E! News that her boyfriend, Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney, had a rather unexpected reaction to the news that she had been cast on the show.

With Kinney being a well-know TV actor, Gaga admitted that she wasn’t sure just how he would react to her encroaching into his world.

“What guy in that scenario would be like, ‘Sure, babe, do TV!’?” Gaga explained. “He does TV, that’s his thing. I do music, and you know, we’re together. But I sort of was like, ‘Is it cool if I do TV?,’ And he was like, ‘F–k yeah!'”

Gaga went on to explain that Kinney has been “exponentially supportive the entire time and just like, so cool.” In fact, she even added that he helps her with her lines and gives her tips on acting, which has proved to be very beneficial to her.

“[He was like], ‘We can read scripts together, and we can talk about our characters together, and I can teach you how to be on set!'” she stated. “And he taught me all about etiquette and what actors would appreciate during their coverage. He taught me to make sure that I was always available fully to the actors when I was working so that when the coverage is on them that I don’t drop my character, that I’m always in it for them, and you know, that’s invaluable advice.”

With her fellow cast members raving about her performance in the series, Gaga revealed that she wants to continue acting, and even expand her career to the big screen and a feature film.

“I think I’d like to do like one great acting project a year,” Gaga said. “I think one a year would be great. You know, I’d really like to do a film now. I’m ready to do a film. But it’s about the right people, the right project.”

Apparently, acting isn’t the only thing Gaga would like to add to her growing resume.

“I want to take some time to write something… I want to make a great piece. It’s just so not important to just be in acting and music and be that person that does both things. Just having that on my roster is not important to me. I really genuinely love it and I love writing songs, so the future for me is very good.”
