Stories about Harry Styles and his One Direction bandmates doing good deeds are not exactly rare, but every once in awhile a story comes along that takes your breath away. While the gossip columns often prefer to churn out false stories about who Harry may be dating, the often incredible acts of generosity toward fans frequently goes unreported.
Just a few weeks ago, it was reported by the Inquisitr that Harry’s bandmate Louis Tomlinson had made a massive donation to a children’s charity. Believe in Magic helps children suffering from serious illness to make a dream come true and Harry, Liam, and Niall gave Louis their full support to help raise a reported £5 million at a charity ball.
In the past, Styles and his pals have supported a wide range of charities, but it seems that organizations supporting sick kids are especially close to their hearts.
In the past few days, both Harry and Louis have shown once again that they have huge hearts when it comes to sick kids. As reported by the Inquisitr, Louis invited 5-year-old Georgia Edwards to hang out with him, Harry, and the rest of the boys backstage at One Direction’s show in Manchester last weekend. What seems to have gone largely unreported was an incredible act of generosity by Harry towards another seriously ill fan.
London’s Evening Standard reports that Harry had a lovely surprise for a One Direction fan named Abbie. The 16-year-old from Elgin in Scotland was desperate to meet Harry after she was diagnosed with clear cell sarcoma, a very rare form of cancer.
Children’s charity Rays of Sunshine arranged to make Abbie’s dream come true, and they flew her from her home to london to attend One Direction’s show at London’s O2 arena. Abbie got to meet Harry backstage and was totally star-struck when Styles gave her a huge hug. Abbie had no idea that the surprise wouldn’t end there. Styles proved that he is a class act with a heart of gold when he presented the awe-struck teenager with a heart-shaped diamond necklace. Abbie looked close to tears as Harry fastened the gift around her neck.
Abbie later shared a montage of photographs on her Twitter and Instagram accounts thanking Styles and Rays of Sunshine for giving her “one of the best days” of her life.
“I was taken backstage and I met Harry privately where he gave me a beautiful diamond heart shaped necklace.
“I still can’t believe what has happened as it as the most surreal experience ever but by far one of the best days of my life.”
As a result of her encounter with Harry Styles, Abbie has been inundated with goodwill messages from all over the world. A One Direction fan summed up the feelings of many when she tweeted “can you imagine being asked ‘where did you get your necklace, it’s beautiful’ and replying ‘Harry Styles gave it to me.'”

Celebuzz reported that, in addition to meeting Harry, Abbie also got to meet the rest of his One Direction bandmates, and she obviously got to see the show.
Best moment ever
Harry and his bandmates are ambassadors for Rays of Sunshine and a number of other charities. When Harry and his pals engage in such acts of kindness and generosity towards their young fans, it is hard to imagine why some people seem to care more about who they are dating.
