‘Survivor’s Remorse’ Recap: ‘The Injury’ Brings Cam A New Love [Spoilers]
Those who are fans of the LeBron James-produced show called Survivor’s Remorse might still be waiting for James to make his appearance, but in the meantime, they have a fabulous new love storyline to keep them entertained. The most recent episode, titled “The Injury,” once again featured the main character Cam Calloway and his life outside of the basketball court. Indeed, most scenes feature Cam off the basketball court, something unexpected by basketball fans who might have tuned into the show expecting to see Cam shaking and baking on the court a la LeBron style.
This time, Cam has met his match when he meets a radar technician played by Meagan Tandy — a character that isn’t easily bowled over by the basketball star’s fame and fortune. She meets him at one of his lowest points, when Cam has suffered another untimely injury and when he’s feeling put aside by his manager/cousin. As such, Cam convinces the woman to give him the heads up about his knee condition. Then Cam throws her under the bus in front of her boss, letting the cat out of the bag that she gave Cam a diagnosis prior to the doctor giving Calloway his diagnosis that all would be okay — and that his strain was better than a tear.
As reported by EW, the character of Cam has experienced other injuries throughout the show. First, Cam was punched by his sister, and then he went through an HPV scare when he bedded a 40-something-year-old reporter. With Cam’s latest knee injury sidelining his court time once more, viewers don’t know when if ever they will see the character’s moves on the basketball court.
Either way, the show writers aren’t afraid to take chances with the storylines and subject matter that they tackle. The HPV storyline joined another episode that spoke of vaginal rejuvenation.
With so much drama at the center of the basketball drama, fans also can’t help but wonder how much of LeBron’s real life is being exposed on the small screen.
With Cam meeting his match in a 30-year-old actress whose character isn’t as impressed with his basketball status as the groupies that tend to flock around such men — making him work hard and be available at 2 a.m. just for the possibility of taking her on a date — forthcoming episodes of Survivor’s Remorse should prove even more dateable.
