Britney Spears Gets Into Teacher Mode, Talks Extended Vegas Residency And More
Britney Spears shared a bit of her dancing techniques in Los Angeles recently while stepping in as a guest teacher at Rockit Dance Studio. The pop star had such a fabulous time that she returned once again to take on the role.
Brit took to Instagram to express her feeling about having the opportunity to once again take the lead in the dance class.
“Stopped by to teach these girls again today … They never cease to amaze me!”
The caption was posted alongside footage of Spears in action and dancing with the girls. Billboard notes that Spears seems to be working in an inspirational message to go along with the movements taught. A chant involving the phrase “We believe in dream catchers with oxygen,” is encouraged to be said by each of the students.
Spears’ ability to take time to teach the little dancers comes due to being on a brief break from her Piece of Me residency in Las Vegas. She heads back to continue her Vegas gig on October 14, and has shared that the residency will continue on through 2016, as well. That’s great news for Britney fans and Vegas visitors, as well as for Brit, herself.
E! Online relays the words of Spears when she received and communicated the great news.
“I’m not ready to leave Vegas yet! And I just really really love this show and this city. I’m so proud of the show, and my band, my dancers and my crew have all become such a family to me. When it came down to me really having to make this decision, I just couldn’t imagine ending my residency at the end of this year.”
Exact dates that the new deal will include, and duration of the extended residency, has yet to be made public. However, if there was no new deal, Brit would be done in Vegas by the end of 2015. As to what turn the extended show will take, Spears shares on the subject.
“I definitely have some major changes planned. I’m getting together with my team this week to go over the set list, design some new costumes and dream up new props. There are a few songs that are fan favorites that I really want to add to the show. It’s very exciting!”
What else does Britney have in store for fans in the near future? Well after the singer dropped her latest single “Pretty Girls,” she did note that she will be releasing a new album in the near future. The triple threat has also taken on a couple guest appearances on various TV shows in recent history, including Jane the Virgin. Most recently, there have been rumors making the rounds that Spears may be dropping in to film a guest spot on the hit series Orange is the New Black. However, this has yet to be verified as factual. Entertainment Tonight simply shares the whisper of a possibility.
The entertainment site shares that the rumor stems from one of the stars on the show, Taryn Manning, expressing just how excited she would be to have Britney Spears as a guest on the show. Spears and Manning have an acting history together as well. The two starred in Crossroads back in 2002 and Manning is reportedly now eager for a reunion.
When asked by ET about a Brit drop in for filming on the show, Manning was all for it.
“Of course, I want Britney Spears everywhere you can see her. She’s the best.”
As it is, Britney Spears is keeping her plate pretty full with her Vegas residency and not to mention her two adorable boys.
