‘Hemlock Grove’: Netflix Releases Brand New Promotional Stills From Season 3, New Character Introduced

Fans of Netflix’s Hemlock Grove have been eagerly awaiting the premiere date of the third and final season. Along with the premiere date, Netflix have just released new season 3 promotional images to whet fans’ appetites. Along with the images is the introduction of the new character that fans got a sneak peek at in the first teaser video released.

Recently, Netflix announced Hemlock Grove’s season 3 would premiere on Friday, October 23, 2015. Along with that was a teaser video clip that showed Roman Godfrey (Bill Skarsgård) drinking blood straight from blood bags with a mysterious brunette that he later leans in for an apparent kiss, leading to romance speculation for Roman in season 3 of Hemlock Grove. You can watch the video below and decide for yourself if Roman will fall for another of his kind in season 3.

However, thanks to the new publicity stills, it seems we might have a name to put to the face in the above clip: Annie (played by Camille De Pazzis). One of the images below shows her still with the remnants of blood on her face as she is standing outside a van that Roman is driving. As of yet little is known about this new character, but when IGN asked the producers of Hemlock Grove about her, they remained “tight-lipped about her exact role in the story” other than to say “it’s big.” Needless to say, fans are already making predictions about the outcome of this brand new relationship.

Since the premiere date and teaser video announcement, there has been little news on the Hemlock Grove front until now. Netflix has released six new promotional stills from season 3 of Hemlock Grove along with the following press release (courtesy of Moar Geek):

Hemlock Grove comes to a riveting and deliciously disturbing conclusion. As the town’s grim secrets continue to unravel at an alarming pace, Olivia (Famke Janssen), Roman (Bill Skarsgård), Peter (Landon Liboiron) and Shelley (Madeleine Martin) are introduced to mysterious new people while facing dangerous and unexpected obstacles. As enemies both foreign and familial close in, Peter and Roman learn that in order to prevent the ‘end of days,’ they will both need to sacrifice their humanity and release their true inner monsters.

“Eli Roth and Charles Eglee serve as executive producers alongside Brian McGreevy, Lee Shipman, Eric Newman and Michael Connolly. Hemlock Grove is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix.”

Eli Roth told IGN that the final chapter of Hemlock Grove could be summed up in three words, “Jaw. Dropping. Literally.” He then expanded with, “We’re going to wrap up the story, and it’s going to be messy – not in terms of story, but in terms of gory.” Eglee also weighed in. “We really got to pull out all the stops,” he explained of season 3. “It’s no-holds-barred; we did it all.”

The Hemlock Grove television series is based on the novel of the same name by Brian McGreevy. It tells the story of a small town and the supernatural creatures that inhabit it, in particular, the rich Godfreys who have vampiric (also known as upir) tendencies and the poor Rumanceks, who tend towards the were-side of things. Peter Rumancek (played by Landon Liboiron) and Roman Godfrey develop a friendship that, at times, is horribly strained due to their upir and werewolf backgrounds.

Season 3 of Hemlock Grove will premiere with 10 episodes on Friday, October 23, at 12:01 a.m. PT on Netflix. Fans wanting to tweet about season 3 of Hemlock Grove can do so using the hashtag #TheFinalChapter, according to the images displayed on Hypable.
