Jimmy Kimmel, Matt Damon Head to Couple’s Counseling to End Feud

Jimmy Kimmel has made it sound like he has a big feud with Matt Damon for years. Every night on his show, Jimmy apologizes to Damon for not having time to bring him out, making it sound like he is waiting backstage for an interview. Kimmel has been doing this for 12 years now. ABC News recently shared how Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon decided to go to couple’s therapy to see if they can work through their problems. This ended up being one of the funniest skits to ever be seen on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.

If you remember back in 2013, Matt Damon came on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and pretended to kidnap him. He took over the entire show while Kimmel was tied up and gagged unable to host his own show. So this time, Matt Damon got on the show by disguising himself as Dr. Phil McGraw and of course, that worked for him. Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t able to tell him that they didn’t have time for him this week on the show.

Jimmy Kimmel decided to show everyone the tape of their therapy session. Matt Damon insists that he has been sitting backstage every single night waiting on Kimmel to call him out on stage. Next Kimmel explained it all in his own way.

“I tried to get him on the show…We have other guests, who he obviously doesn’t care about…He thinks he’s the only celebrity in California…It’s all about him. I would imagine it sucks to be him…He’s trying to be a movie star…Just look at his face and his body — it’s not a movie star face and…it’s not a movie star body.”

Later, Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon hugged it out and were done with their fight. Kimmel says that he has apologized to Matt Damon enough so you have to wonder if this is the end of him saying that he didn’t have time to for him to appear every single night. This became a running joke that fans couldn’t get enough of and listened for at the end of every episode.

Digital Spy shared that Matt Damon actually shared what started this joke between himself and Jimmy Kimmel. Damon shared that the very first time he met Jimmy Kimmel was a year after he had already been saying this on every episode. Damon then went on to explain how the joke started.

“So he came backstage, and I asked him what that was about. And he was like, ‘You want to know what happened? I was doing a particularly lame show; I think my guests were a ventriloquist and a guy in a monkey suit. We were wrapping it up, and there was a smattering of applause in the audience. I was having kind of a low moment, and I just said, ‘My apologies to Matt Damon;’ we ran out of time.”

Damon went on to explain that Jimmy Kimmel told him he has no idea why he said that to him, because it could have been anyone. Of course, everyone thought it was hilarious, so Jimmy Kimmel just kept the joke going and now they have done several things with it. Everyone can’t wait to see if Jimmy Kimmel keeps this going or if they will be done with it. After 12 years, it is hard to imagine him ending the show any other way.
